HOW TO USE THIS MANUAL

The User Manual contains all essential information for the user to make
full use of the information system. This manual includes a description
of the system functions and capabilities, contingencies and alternate
modes of operation, and step-by-step procedures for system access and
use.
This section provides a description of the purpose and scope of the User
Manual.

OVERAL PURPOSE
5.1 System Purpose:

The Purpose of the Irrigation system in providing adequate water
to the shrubs, ground covers, trees, in soft landscaping area.
5.2 System Scope:

The Scope of works are as follows,
1) Supply and installation of Rain bird solenoid valves, at existing

PPR pipes.
2) Supply and installation of inline drip tube as per the
requirement & the type of Landscape.
3) Supply & Installation of irrigation maxi control cables and the
required conduits and pull boxes, to connect the solenoid
valves to the irrigation controller rain bird.
4) Testing &commissioning of the irrigation Systems.
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
Irrigation System Description
a. Overview of field irrigation system
1. The Source of irrigation is from the irrigation storage tank,
which is fed with TSE water from Dubai municipality source.
The supply line to the storage tank was done by others.
2. The Irrigation discharge line from the nearby portable water
point
3. Irrigation Mainline, per as built drawings. Isolation valve are
used to isolate flow of one. Solenoid Valve/valve control water
flow from mainline in to the laterals. The Operation of each
Solenoid valve is controlled through irrigation controller as per
irrigation schedule. The solenoid valves are connected to
irrigation controller through control wires,the cables such as
the power cable and control/station cables are installed in
separate conduit pipes.
4. Irrigation Water distribution system is consisted of following:
(a) Inline dripper tube for irrigation trees, shrubs and

ground covers, seasonal are installed as built installation
details.
Water Consumption:
The plant water requirements vary with season, e: g-the peak
water demands are during the hot season (5months-may to
September) and during moderately cool months these are
reduced from 25% to 40%. Irrigation Peak demands are considered
during the design process.
The Duration of the irrigation system is determined on the basis of

daily water requirements of the plants and evaporation rates. In
general, the following peak water requirements are taken in to
consideration.

Pipes and Fittings Maintenance Procedure:

Pipe Leakage: - excavate and locate pipe leakage- Cut and remove
leaking pipe and repair using new pipe and fittings as required.
Emitter /Dripper Pipes and Fittings maintenance Procedure:
Flush the dripper line when emitters are not operating
satisfactory.
If Flushing is not effective, replace the clogged length of the
dripper tube with new dripper tube of same Specifications.
Drip line Leakage: - Locate the leakage, cut and remove leaking
pipe, pipe and replace /repair as required.
Replace and clogged or partially clogged online PC emitters
(delivering less than 50% of the nominal flow) or any emitter over
flowing by more than 50%.
Solenoid Valve with Battery Operated:
 Check the Solenoid valve coil for proper functioning
 Check control cable wire connectors for conducting proper
signal
 Check the earthing strength of control cable
 Check the continuity of maxi cable.
