Position: 2024-2025 Part-Time Engineering Teacher

Description: Archbishop Hoban High School is seeking a part-time Engineering teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.
Duties include but are not limited to: pre-engineering and engineering classes; assisting students with the
makerspace tools and 3D printers; assisting in other areas as assigned by the Principal or department chair. Course
content includes instruction for all grade levels and enrichment.

Position Responsibilities:
• Teach college preparatory curricula and assignments that align with school standards in a block schedule.
• Build and create authentic assessments that constantly provide sound practice and feedback resulting in
student growth and development.
• Experience with or are open to a variety of instructional methods and techniques to meet the needs of the
students and course objectives that support high levels of student achievement.
• Incorporate various modes of technology into lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Demonstrate innovative planning, organization and maintain classroom expectations.
• Encourage and foster a culture of mutual respect needed to provide a productive learning environment.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive relationships with students.
• Evaluate student academic needs and report student progress as scheduled.
• Communicate with parents/guardians in a timely manner regarding student progress.
• Effective communication, problem-solving and time management skills.
• Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.

Qualifications:
• Hold a valid Ohio teaching license or the ability to acquire one.
• Successful completion of a bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to work with school technology (use of academic software, Google, etc.).
• Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and
Federal Bureau of investigation. Have attended or willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children
training.
