WEB DESIGN PRINCIPLES
1. PURPOSE
When you're making a website, start by
being super clear about what you want it
to do. Whether it's sharing info, selling
stuff, or just entertaining, having a clear
goal helps users know what to expect. So,
be sure about what you want your web
design to achieve.
2. SIMPLICITY
Don't complicate things! Too many fancy
designs can distract from your website's
main goal. Keep it simple so users can
easily use it and find what they need.
Remember, simple designs are usually
more effective.
3. LOAD TIME
Crowded and over-designed web
design can affect the loading time
of your website. This may result to
lose your visitors even if every
aspect of your website has a clear
purpose. To improve the speed and
performance of your website you
need to simplify your design to
optimize its loading time.
4. COMMUNICATION
To connect with users, give them
straightforward and easy-to-understand info.
Use clear headings, pictures, and bullet points
to organize information. Good communication
makes users stay longer on your site.
5. RESPONSIVE
Make your website work well on phones
and tablets. The design should adjust to
different screen sizes. Since lots of people
use smartphones and tablets, having a
website that works on different devices is
a must. This way, you'll attract more
users.
WEB DESIGN ELEMENTS
1. CONTENT
Content is considered as the backbone
of your website because this is the main
reasons people seeking your website at
the first place. Using video, animation,
relevant news, up-to-date information
and high-resolution imagery provide a
great deal for your website to be
engaging, effective and popular. This
will ensure longer participation of the
user on your website.
2. USABILITY
Usability anticipates what the users
may think and help them fulfill their
needs with as little effort as possible.
Your website must be easily to navigate,
intuitive, accessible and user-friendly
using navigation buttons. This will allow
user to know where they are on the
website at all times and be able to find
where they want to go with little
thought they have. This will also be able
to access any page they need without
having to view the whole site.
3. AESTHETIC
includes factors such as balance,
movement, pattern, scale, shape and
visual weight. This factor, if done
properly, will visually contributes the
credibility of your design. Having
a visually impressive yet simple
website across all devices will reflect
on what quality you have on your
website design.
4. VISIBILITY
The success of your website depends on
how many people are interested in it.
Even if your website looks really nice and
is easy to use, it won't do well if people
can't find it. This part of web design is
crucial, and you need to come up with a
plan to promote your website using
search engines, social media, and email.
It's important to know how to get
noticed, which platforms to focus on, and
how to use your content effectively.
5. INTERACTION
Including comment boxes and opinion
polls in your website design can make it
better. It lets you connect with users,
keep them interested, guide them, and
ultimately, persuade them to reach out
to you. Remember, your website is not
just for looks; it's there to assist your
audience and promote your progress.
