This study investigates using CO2 laser treatment to improve the surface properties of 3D printed PLA polymer materials. The experiment varies the CO2 laser's power, scan speed, and standoff distance during the surface treatment process. The findings from analyzing the experiment using Taguchi method have implications for industries requiring precise surface properties, such as biomedical, aerospace, and consumer products. The research aims to enhance the surface roughness and hardness of 3D printed polymer materials through optimizing the CO2 laser surface treatment process parameters.

This study investigates the surface treatment of 3D printed Poly-lactic
Acid (PLA)-based polymer materials processed using CO2 laser technology. In this experiment we can use 3D printed PLA based polymer materials. Then to perform co2 laser treatment on 3D printed PLA based polymers. By giving input process parameters of co2 laser which varies in laser power, scan speed and stand of distance. The stand of distance means the distance between the laser and the work piece. Using Taguchi method to analysis the experiment. The findings have implications for industries requiring precise surface properties, such as biomedical applications, aerospace components, and consumer products. the research aims to improvise the surface properties like surface roughness and hardness of the 3D printed polymer materials.
