for International Transfer Students

2. Admissions Unit
International students (refer to the definition below) can apply for the UIC Sophomore or Junior class.
(Applicants must mark their choice on their application form.)
3. Eligibility
International students are non-Korean citizens whose parents are both non-Korean citizens.
A Korean citizen with dual citizenship is NOT considered as an international applicant.
※ Students (all applicants) who have earned credits from an exchange (visiting) college must receive
confirmation of the credits from the previous university and receive a transcript (including the credits) from
the previous university. The submission of the transcript must be made during the application period.
5. Required Documents
A. Transfer Application Form
B. [Apostille] Verification of enrollment & Official transcript(s) from a college or university
Those who have completed their freshman year or sophomore year at a college or university in
Korea must also submit freshman year or sophomore year “certificate of completion(수료증명
서)”
Documents from a college or university in Korea do not need Apostille
C. [Apostille] Certificate of high school graduation
Certificate of graduation from high school in Korea does not need Apostille
D. Official document showing your university’s graduation requirement credit and accreditation
E. Personal statement written in English (part of application form)
F. Applicant’s and his/her parent passports & Applicant’s birth certificate copy
G. For non-Korean national applicants residing in Korea: One photocopy of the "Certificate of Alien
Registration"
H. [Mandatory documents for foreigners with Korean ethnicity]
Legal documentation verifying the renunciation of the applicant and both his/her parents’ Korean
citizenship such as a Certificate of Family Relationship that shows renunciation of Korean citizenship
by the Korean government, verification of the renunciation of citizenship issued by the Korean
Counsel, or verification of the renunciation issued by the Ministry of Justice and notarized copy of
Alien Registration Card issued after the year 2011.
※ An application(접수증) or registration form for the verification of renunciation of citizenship is
NOT acceptable. An official document issued by Korean government saying that the process is
completely finished is ONLY valid.
※ Certificate of Family Relationship can be issued at any “dong” office.
I. Honors, awards, English proficiency test scores and qualifications not recorded on the transcript (if
applicable)
6. Apostille Requirement
Verification of enrollment/official transcript(s) from a college or university, and certificate of high school
graduation can be verified in the following ways:
A. obtaining Apostille stamps on the documents if the student has attended or graduated from school(s)
in a country that is a member of the Hague Convention (Convention Abolishing the Requirement of
Legalization for Foreign Public Documents); or
B. obtaining Korean Consulate Confirmation; or
C. China Qualifications Verification of CDGDC (China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education
Development Center) when the student has attended or graduated from school(s) in People’s
Republic of China
※ Documents from a college/university/high school in Korea do not need Apostille requirement

- Applicants must apply online through the UIC website.
• Step 2. Document Submission
- After completing the online application, applicants must send the application materials to the UIC office
by post. Please refer to the address below:
