Social Values

Social values form an important part of culture of the society. Values such as fundamental rights,
patriotism, respect for human dignity, sacrifice, individuality, equality, democracy, etc

"Values are general conceptions of the good ideas about the kind of ends that people should
perceive throughout their lives and throughout the many different activities in which they engage".

In simple words, values may be defined as measure of goodness or desirability.

Showing respect and wishing – Namaste, Shubhodaya, folding hands when wishing elders.

Usage of words please, thank you, and excuse me

Asking before Taking Anything. Not to grab anything from any mate

Not eating from someone else’s box/plate (unless they offer)

Knocking on Doors Before Entering

PETRIOTISM

Patriotism refers to the passionate love one has for their country. This virtue
pushes to citizens of a country to work for their country selflessly and make it better.

School should teach about our nation and think how we will develop patriotism in our
children.

1 NATIONAL ANTHEM: A regular session of singing the National Anthem.

2. CELEBRATION OF IMPORTANT DAYS: Along with National Festivals we should also celebrate Kargil
Diwas and Shourya Diwas. Teacher must teach a child that why we celebrating these days and what
is the importance of these days.
3. VIDEOS: By modifying the way the lessons are thought. The class of Indian history can include
videos of freedom fighters along with the text books. Even the institute can arrange video sessions
for the students and show them documentaries of the Kargil war to give them the actual feel.

4. ARMY PERSONNEL: Schools can invite retired army personnel to have a talk session with their
students.

5. SHOW RESPECT: School should teach student that we should give respect to our nation, national
anthem and national flag.

Selfcare and Hygiene

How to hold and keep Bags, Dishes (after eating) basic washing guidelines

Keeping hands off the glass, not keeping elbows on table.

Making a habit of eating of nutritious food regularly like fruits, vegetables and dry fruits

Build the habit of asking questions and encourage them to do it regularly

Identify special skill of each kid, note it down and support that like singing, painting, dancing, article

Screen time restriction maximum 2-3 hours a day

Creating an atmosphere so that each kid should open up about their ideas and fears to address them
and try to resolve with effective measures

Moral values

Moral values are set of principles guiding us to evaluate what is right or wrong. Moral values help
shape the character and personality of individuals. Children are thought about it through moral
stories.

1. Honesty:

“Honesty is the best policy”, it should be instilled as one of the most important values in a child and
one must be encouraged to tell the truth regardless of the mistakes made. This will help live without
any guilt and build confidence resulting in the overall growth of the child.

2. Respect:

Everyone desires respect regardless of age or status in society. As a child, a student should learn to
respect others which include his peers, elders, different religions, races, sexes, ideas, and lifestyles. It
is a very essential moral value as it will make him more concerned about others and benefit him in
life in the future.

3. Family:

A Child should have a sense of family, so that he grows up understanding the importance of family,
cooperation, love and respect for all people, working together through thick and thin with the motto
“united we stand and divided we fall.

4. Education and Hard Work:

A child should be made to understand the importance of education and its impact on his life and
encouraged to study and attaining knowledge. A child should understand the importance and value
of hard work. Education and hard work culminate in success in life and success, it is said success is
one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration.

5. Adjustment & Compromise:

When absolutely necessary, a child should learn to compromise and adjust but not at the cost of his
own life, resulting in harm to himself. This attitude will take him long and far in his life and build
good relations with people.

6. Compassionate Nature:

Compassion is the sensitiveness to the needs of other people i.e., extending a hand of help to the
needy, maybe a stranger, showing sympathy, empathy, and compassion towards others, which
always payback in return when in need.

7. Justice:

A child must have a sense of justice and speak out whenever he senses wrong-doing, towards
himself or others.
8. Religious Tolerance:

As a student, the child should have respect for his and for other’s religion too, understanding that all
are equal regardless of caste, creed, and religion.

9. Cheating and Theft:

As a student, a child should understand, whatever the justification, that cheating, and theft are
legally and morally wrong and amounts to stealing something that belongs to someone else.

10. Forgiveness:

A child should be made to understand that abusing, hurting or harming others results not only in
physical but also emotional, psychological and mental agony and should be discouraged to abuse,
encouraged to apologize and forgive people who hurt us. Unwillingness to forgive is the root cause
of anger, violence, and fights.

ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS

The environment plays a significant role to support life on earth. But humans are causing damages to
life and ecosystem of the earth. In the name of the development, we have consumed our natural
resource’s ruthlessly and polluted our environment. Ex. scarcity of water, increasing levels of wastes,
air pollution and global warming are some common issues of which pose a great threat to the
environment.

5.ABOUT LITTER

for teachers, when you see litter pick it up even if it's not yours. Those little eyes might be watching
you.

6.RECYCLING SYSTEM

start a recycling system in your class room and show the children how to us it and recycle their
things.

7.ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION

to educate school children on the importance of environment conservation through a story.

8.TEACH ABOUT WILD LIFE

generate awareness and curiosity about nature and wildlife amongst school children.

9.FANCY DRESS COMPITATION

school should organize, fancy dress competition on this regarding. (Trees, animals, birds)

10.MEDICINAL PLANT

introduce the name of medicinal plants and its uses. (Tulsi, alovera, ginger)

11.ENVIRONMENT DAY

by celebrating of World Environment Day, on June 5th. and Earth Day April 22nd.

12.IMPORTANCE OF RAIN AND ITS SOURCES

we should teach children about importance of rain and its uses. (Lake, river, well)
