UNIT 8: TOP SHOPS


LESSON 8: DEVELOP WRITING
Time allowed: 45 minutes
I. Objectives
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. General knowledge:
 write a paragraph about advantages and disadvatages
2. Language knowledge:
a. Vocabulary:
 identify and memorize the useful words to introduce a list of ideas.
b. Pronunciation:
 pronounce correctly the vocabulary they have learned.
c. Writing:
 apply the vocabulary and structure of paragraph they have learned in the unit to write a
paragraph about advantages and disadvatages
3. Attributes and competencies:
a. Core competences
 develop discussion skills and cognitive skills.
 develop self-control and independent learning.
b. Attributes
 acknowledge the appropriate language when writing an informal email.
 be communicative, collaborative, and supportive in pair work and teamwork with other
class members.
II. Methods: Integrated, Communicative approach.

 Discuss the following questions:
1. Is it typical for teenagers in your country to work
part-time? What kind of jobs?
2. Have you ever had a part-time job? What was it?
3. Do you think working part-time is good or bad for
teenagers? Why?

 Ss get the motivation to start the lesson.
