15 1) Ss work in 2-3 groups. Pictures are shown on the PPT 3-21
board. Ss have to write words that describe the
activities in the picture. T may ask ss to write verbs
with the same roots as the given nouns.

2) Ss have to divide the words into indoor/outdoor PPT 23
activities, extreme sports and hobbies
FB: T observes ss’ work and highlights only words
where ss have problems.
3) Ss look at adjectives describing activities. If there PPT 24
are many words that they don’t know, the class may
be divided into 2 groups to look up the two groups
of words in a dictionary and then explain to the
other group. Then practice making sentences in
pairs.
FB: T asks 1-2 ss to share ideas with the WC and
comments on the good ideas and examples of
language use and common mistakes eliciting ways
to correct them from ss.
NB You may vary the number and “depth” of the
activities here depending on your student needs.
