V. LEVEL OUTCOMES : At the end of the second year, given a normal and high-risk mother and newborn, child, family,
population group, and community in any health setting. The learners demonstrate safe, appropriate, and holistic care utilizing the nursing process.
VI. COURSE OUTCOMES : At the end of the course, and given a normal and high-risk mother and newborn, child, family, population
group and community in any health setting, the student should be able to:
1. Apply concepts, theories, and principles of sciences and humanities in the formulation and application of appropriate nursing care to individuals and
families during childbearing and childrearing years.
2. Apply evidence-based nursing practices in the care of mother and child.
3. Provide safe, appropriate, and holistic care to individuals, families and population group utilizing the nursing process during childrearing years
4. Practice beginning management and leadership skills using systems approach in the care of normal mother and child.
5. Apply techno-intelligent care systems and processes in maternal and child care.
6. Document care of mother and child during the perinatal period accurately and comprehensively.
7. Engage in lifelong learning with a passion to keep current with national and global development in the care of the mother and child.
8. Practice maternal and child nursing in accordance with existing laws, legal, ethical and moral principles
9. Communicate effectively in speaking, writing, and presenting using culturally appropriate language with children and families
10. Work effectively in collaboration with inter-, intra- and multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams in maternal and child care.
11. Discuss researchable problems in maternal and child care.
12. Demonstrate responsible citizenship and pride of being a Filipino in the practice of maternal and child nursing.
13. Adopt the nursing core values in the delivery of care to the mother and child.
