Globalization has its own blessings

and so on.

1. Globalization – process that makes world look

2. Postmodernity – Modernity is characterized by
a belief in limitless progress achievable by
universal rationality, technology, and
individual freedoms or autonomy. It did not
fulfill its promise; it made life complicated and
expensive because of the Market Economy. It
has “led to disenchantment with the myth of
progress.” It is described as the new condition
in which we live. It is described as a situation
of ambiguity; respect for and celebration of
particularity and ‘otherness.’ It has values:
difference, diversity, and plurality.
Postmodern thinkers say that they must be
accepted, promoted, and celebrated. It is also
the condition that brings to mind “ideas of
fracturing, fragmentation, indeterminacy and
plurality. Its mission is “to bring not only about
new conditions of experience, but a new shape
of living.
3. Secularization – We also experience what they
call unchurched spirituality. There is a glaring
decline in churched religion which is attributed
to the secularization process and is a
characteristic of modern societies in general.
Secularization is a concept that has been
defined in various ways, but it is usually
understood as ‘a historical development by
which religion has lost a presumed central
place in society. It refers to decline in
‘religiousness’.
4. Multiculturality – In the new world order,
cross-cultural contact is easy; it is also
practically unavoidable.These processes could
lead to new directions in the life of the people. It
is a society where many different cultures
live together.
5. Religious Pluralism – Christianity has always
grown as a result of its encounter with the
“other.” The big challenge is to translate the
Christian faith into new languages and cultures
through dialogue with culture towards
inculturation and inter-culturation. Religion is
the quest for the Ultimate Reality (God).
Religious pluralism is thought of as “an aspect
of the cultural ethnic pluralism.” It
emphasizes diversity rather than homogeneity,
multiplicity rather than unity, difference rather
than sameness. Today, we have spiritual
hunger that longs for new experiences and
structures of meaning, purpose, and passion.
