COMMERCIAL TICKETS

At the intersection of tradition and innovation, the San Isidro Commercial Plaza
emerges as an architectural project destined to become an icon of urban life in
Villavicencio. Inspired by the vibrant social and cultural fabric of the region, we
aim to design a space that not only meets the functional needs of the
community, but also celebrates its unique identity and encourages human
interaction.
Taking into account the problems identified in the sector, the main objective of
the project is to recover public space which is affected by informal businesses.
To free the invaded public space, a plaza is implemented that is developed from
commercial passages, connected and integrating the historic center (Villa
Julia), energizing the sector and reorganizing informal commerce, also
improving the permeability of the area and guaranteeing a flexible design so that
they can be adapted to different types of businesses and commercial activities.
Due to the high occupancy rate, lack of equipment and the monofunctionality
of commercial activities, it is proposed to provide the sector with cultural
facilities that attract more users who have a variety of activities to do in the area,
improving the monofunctionality and commercial offer improve as a strategy to
energize the area is through commercial passages where not only is it around
the block but also a dynamic and internal flow is generated in it.
As a strategy to de-densify the area, green areas (parks) and pedestrian paths
with trees are proposed to help create a healthy, fresh, pleasant and attractive
environment in which users want to stay and which is a social meeting point.
Taking this into account, a renovation of the facades is generated with the aim
of making them light and very striking and also improving the appropriate image
of the sector.
Having said all of the above, we take as reference some urban models, the first
being Vitruvius' Ideal City emphasizing the creation of balanced open spaces,
the use of natural materials and the integration of architectural elements that
encourage community interaction.
The second reference is the Garden City, emphasizing the creation of accessible
green areas, pedestrian paths, and multifunctional public spaces that
encourage social interaction and the enjoyment of nature, with the aim of
revitalizing the area.
