Calypso
Jacques Cousteau is a famous French underwater scientist. His ship is called Calypso.
Calypso carries special teams of scientists all round the world from the South Pole to the warm
Waters of Africa.
But Calypso hasn’t always been Cousteau’s ship. She was built in America in 1942 and was given
the name J–826. During World War II, she was sent to the Mediterranean Sea, where she worked to
find underwater bombs.
After the war, J–826 was used to carry cars and people between the island of Malta and the very
small island of Gozo. Gozo was thought to be the home of a beautiful sea creature, Calypso. When
the ship was bought by Cousteau in 1950, he changed her name from J–826 to Calypso, after the sea
creature.
Today, Calypso is home to twenty–seven Cousteau team members–drivers, scientists, cameramen,
photographers and a cook. She also carries satellite communications equipment and a hydrophone
to listen for whales. She has a special place for helicopters to land, and a glass observation room at
the bottom part of the ship. From this room, all kinds of interesting underwater plants and animals
can be seen.

Критерии оценивания тестов для учащихся 9-11 классов


по Английскому языку

1. Тесты для учащихся 9-11 классов – это задания в закрытой форме (выбором одного
правильного ответа).
2. Тест содержит задания средней сложности.
3. Каждое правильно выполненное задание оценивается в 1 балл.
4. Максимальный балл за всю работу:
для 9-11 классов – это 30 т/з - 30 баллов.
5. Оценивание работ проводится на основании правильных ответов и шкале перевода
баллов в пятибалльную систему оценивания.

Шкала перевода полученных баллов в пятибалльную систему оценивания для


9-11 классов.
