𝑊 = 163.83 𝐽 1

iii. Calculate the Normal force, N.

From free body diagram

vector Axis-x Axis-y

N 𝑁 sin 90° = 𝑁 1.5
40 40 sin 35° = 22.94
W = 98.1 N 98.1 sin 270° = −98.1

𝐹𝑦 = 0 0.5

N + 22.94 − 98.1 = 0
N = 75.16 N 1

𝑊 = 𝐹𝑟. 𝑠 cos 𝜃 1
𝑊 = 𝜇𝑁. 𝑠 cos 𝜃
𝑊 = (0.3)(75.16)(5) cos 180° 1
𝑊 = −112.74 𝐽 1

v. Calculate the total work done on the box.

∑𝑊 = 𝑊 + 𝑊 = 163.83 + (−112.74) = 51.09 𝐽 1

b. A broke lorry of weight 600 N as shows in Figure Q2b passing through point
