Transportation Here are some suggested routes to Vigan for those
coming from the following locations in North Luzon:
Take a shuttle or a taxi from Clark International Airport
in Pampanga to Dau Bus Terminal, where you can board
a bus to Vigan. It would take 7 to 9 hours to travel.
By Car/Van (Private)
The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac
Expressway (SCTEX), and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union
Expressway (TPLEX) are the best routes from Manila to
Vigan for both city buses and private cars. Passengers
traveling to other provinces of Northern Luzon will use
these highways. It will take about 8 to 10 hours to travel
from Manila to Vigan.
By Flights
If you're low of time but not able to spend a lot of
money, flying to Vigan is a good option. Although there
are no direct flights from Manila, you can fly to Laoag
Airport and then take a bus to Vigan. It will take about 3
hours to complete the journey. Travel to Manila first,
then to Vigan if you're coming from the Visayas or
Mindanao. Vigan used to have a community airport
called Mindoro Airport that served the entire province
of Ilocos Sur, with scheduled flights from InterIsland
Airline and Sea Air. However, owing to low traffic,
operations had to be canceled, though the airport
continues to serve chartered flights.

Things to remember It is currently one of Asia's best-preserved planned
Spanish colonial towns. Though it adhered to the
Renaissance grid plan for Spanish Empire towns, it was
also heavily inspired by numerous architecture styles
from China and Europe. It was also known as one of the
Founded in the 16th century, Vigan was once a stop on
the Silk Route, making it a significant trading post.

Other information you may need Cash in Philippine Pesos is the most popular mode of
payment in Vigan City (PHP). The majority of shops in
the City Center allow credit cards (except for small food
stalls), although it is recommended that you have
ample cash with you at all times. If you need to
withdraw currency, there are ATMs in the City Center.
Language
Locals speak Ilokano, which is their mother tongue, as
well as Filipino. Communication would not be an issue
here since the majority of locals, especially in the City
Center, can speak and understand basic to intermediate
English.
Where to Shop
Calle Crisologo is a shopper's paradise. There are shops
where you can buy souvenirs. As you explore, pick up
some local snacks and delicacies like bagnet (deep-fried
pork belly) and Vigan longganisa. Antiques, knit pieces,
woodcrafts, and jewelry, to name a few, are also
available in several stores.

Things to remember BARCELONA'S WINE BARS

When you want to party all night, Spain and wine are
the perfect choices. If you have a free day, visit one of
these wineries and savor each taste of red and white
wine. Wine tours in Spain will introduce you to any type
of wine produced in the country. You'll forget about
your wine trails until you step into one of these bars.

SHOPPING FREAKS

If you take a snapshot of a random commodity from the

market, it becomes invalid. You must first ask the
vendor; if he refuses, you are not permitted to take
photographs. Most vendors do not argue with
customers and encourage them to do as they wish. It all
depends on the vendor's mood; if he's in a good mood,
he could let you photograph the product; if he's in a
bad mood, your luck is also grim.

Other information you may need All seems to be having a good time.

That is why traveling and backpacking across Spain is so

enjoyable. Spain is a lovely, fascinating, and diverse
country with a great deal of cultural diversity and
individuality. Madrid and Barcelona are vibrant towns,
Granada has a Moorish flavor, and the Basque Country
to the north contrasts with life in the south. Spaniards
enjoy entertaining strangers, drinking fine wine,
laughing over a nice meal, and generally living life to the
fullest. There isn't much of a hurry here.

And, as an extra bonus, Spain is very inexpensive. It is a

very affordable country to travel to.
