Pagburnayan Jar Factory
One of the very few remaining jar factories around
Vigan. It’s a popular must-try cultural activity that is
also part of a Vigan City tour. In order to help people
appreciate the industry of jar-making, the factory is
open for tourists who want to see and experience
pottery making first hand, from simple, basic designs to
more artistic earthen jars.

Rowilda’s Handloom Weaving
With their bevy of multi-colored inabel or handwoven
products. Rowilda’s utilizes their hundred-year-old
wooden handloom located at Brgy. Camanggaan, just a
10-minute tricycle ride away from Calle Crisologo.

Tongson’s Royal Bibingka
Explore
Located just before Calle Crisologo from Plaza Burgos.
It is dubbed as the home of the original Vigan royal the breathtakingly
bibingka or glutinous rice cake. There are many other
VIGAN
shops that sell their own version of the delicacy but
locals still flock to Tongson’s for their royal bibingka.

Event Attractions
World Heritage Solidarity Day
The City of Vigan joins other World Heritage Sites in a
celebration every 8th of September to encourage the
preservation of cultural heritage, both natural and man-
made, for the good of all.
Viva Vigan Festival of Arts
Every first week of May, Viva Vigan is hosted. Calesa
parades, binatbatan street dance, ramada sports,
religious rites, Santa Cruz, Bankathon, displays,
trade/food fairs, an abel-iloco fashion show, and other
thrilling activities are included.
Natural Attractions
Mindoro Beach
Offers a front-facing view of the West Philippine Sea.
This beach, which has black but smooth and fine sand,
has some strong currents. Since Mindoro Beach is
situated toward the west coast, it can be a good spot
for watching sunsets.
Hidden Garden
The Hidden Garden of Vigan, despite the name, is not
really hidden. It is found in the heart of Vigan City and is
frequented by locals and tourists alike. It got its name
from the large backyard garden that is hidden from
those who are walking in Katipunan Street in front of it.
Man-Made Attractions
Calle Crisologo
A well-preserved cobblestoned street that’s lined with
ancestral houses dating back to the Spanish colonization
of the Philippines in the 16th century. Its historical and
cultural significance makes it a popular destination among
millions of local and international travelers.
Vigan Cathedral
An important landmark in Ilocos Sur’s capital city and is
also included in a Vigan City tour. The cathedral pays
homage to Baroque architecture as seen in the ornate
details outside and inside the church, although the
cathedral has had its share of renovations too to make it
sturdier.
Bantay Church
Bell Tower
One of Vigan’s most iconic symbols. It served as the
town’s watchtower before being turned into a bell tower
by the nearby church in 1857.
Passenger Transport
By Land
The cheapest mode of transportation to Vigan is by bus.
Although there are several bus routes to choose from,
the costs are not significantly different. Public buses or
private cars traveling from Manila to Vigan should use the
Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX), North
Luzon Expressway (NLEX), and Subic-Clark-Tarlac
Expressway (SCTEX).
By Air
If you are short on time but prepared to spend extra
money, flying to Vigan is a quick solution. Although there
are no direct flights, you can travel to Laoag Airport from
Manila and then take a bus to Vigan.

Calle Brewery
The home of local craft beers and smoked meats. It is
along Calle Crisologo and less than 200m away from
Syquia Mansion Museum. Calle Brewery has five
specialty beers named after local heroes such as
Salakot ni Diego, Espada ni Lapu-Lapu, Canyon ni
Panday, Bigote ni Antonio, and Kabayo ni Gabriela. They
also serve smoked meats and fresh seafood.
Casa Vicente Restaurant
A rustic bar and restaurant at the crossroads of V. de
Los Reyes Street and Bonifacio Street, is a favourite
amongst couples for its charming ambiance. There is a
special table and seating space in the restaurant’s
corner set aside for patrons who want to make
romantic proposals. Ilocano cuisine is created and
cooked in a unique style using Italian techniques. Three
of their best-selling dishes, including the beef dip,
bonito’s favorite, and bone marrow with mixed veggies,
are available for customers to select from.
