LPG Extraction Unit will be designed for the following product specifications;
Design output capacity : 85 Tons per day (including 10% margin)
Vapor Pressure : 115 -145 psi (@100 0F)
C5 & C5+ : ≤ 2% (vol%)
Sulfur content : 343 mg/m3 (max)
Free water : NIL
3. Heavy Condensate to EPF
Flowrate : XX bbl/d
Pressure : XX psig
Temperature : < 130 0F
Total C3 & C4 : ≤ XX % (vol%)

4. Process Design Basis and Description

NGL / Hydrocarbon condensate (rich in C3 & C4 components) from Gas / Liquid Exchanger is sent to
De-ethanizer column. Flash gas rich in C1 and C2 are separated from De-ethanizer top is sent to fuel
gas system for utilisation. De-ethaniser column is equipped with overhead partial condenser, which
utilise liquid propane received from DPCU and reflux drum. Condensed hydrocarbons from column is
used as reflux for De-ethanizer column.
De-ethanised hydrocarons from the De-ethaniser bottom is fed into the De-butanizer column for
rectification. C3 & C4 vapors (LPG components) from the top of the De-butanizer column is
condensed and subcooled upto XX0F using Debutanizer air cooler and sent to LPG reflux drum. LPG
reflux pumps supply a part of the liquefied gas into the de-butanizer top as column reflux and
transfer remaining product LPG to storage bullets for storage and truck loading.
Debutanizer bottom stream, which is rich in C5+ components is cooled to XX0F by Condensate air
cooler and then sent to EPF for mixing in Crude Storage Tanks.
LPG production of 85 T/day (including 10% design margin) will be stored in mounded bullets (2 nos),
which are sized to store 3 days production capacity with 90% filled volume.
Two number of LPG loading arms will be provided for truck loading. Each loading arm has dedicated
LPG metering package and a common odorant injection package. Design capacity of LPG loading
system will be based on daylight hours (6 hours effective loading time) loading operation. It is
envisaged that about 6 nos. of LPG trucks with 12 ton capacity each will be required for this
operation.

5. Design Changes on ‘GMF Base Design Case’ for LPG production

In order to enhance LPG production; following design changes from the ‘Base Case’ will be
considered;
- NGL from Cold Separator will be directy sent to LPG Unit in order to process colder
condensate in De-ethaniser column for efficient column operation. Accordingly, Gas-Liquid
Exchanger (SHE-XXX) will not be required for LPG case.
- Rich fuel gas for consumer will be supplied from De-ethaniser overhead, accordingly
Condensate heater (SHE-XXXX), Rich Fuel Gas Knock-out drum (V-XXXX) and Fuel gas
superheater (SHE-XXXX) will not be required for LPG design case.
- DPCU Propane Refrigeration System duty needs to be increassed to accommodate propane
requirement for De-ethaniser overhead condenser.
- Associated utilities, such as Steam Boiler, Boiler Feed Water shall be designed to
accommodate additional duty requirement.
