Salvador Dalí

ARTIST
Salvador Dalí was a famous Spanish painter. He was born in 1904 and is known
for his whimsical and dreamlike works of art, an example would be "Sueño
causado por el vuelo de una abeja alrededor de una granada un segundo antes del
despertar"

A curiosity about Dalí, it is said that he was afraid of insects, so he used to carry a
firearm with him to defend himself against them.
MEANING OF THE
WORK OF ART
In this photograph we contemplate a seascape and calm waters, in
the middle of which, Gala stars in the scene. A bee flies above him,
an insect that symbolizes the Virgin. The buzzing of the bee
translates in Gala's mind into a dream in which the explosion of the
grenade at the top causes a huge fish to fly out of its interior, from
which, in turn, emerge two menacing tigers and a bayonet; This will
be the one that a second later will sting Gala on the arm and wake
her up from sleep.
Regarding the symbology of the painting, there may be many
interpretations attributed, for example, to the pomegranate, the bee,
the tigers, the elephant, the sea... But they all coincide in a reading of
deep eroticism.
