How to Make a Layered Water Filter

Use an empty two-litter plastic bottle. First, cut off the bottom of the bottle. Then, cut two
holes on sides to hang the bottle on a rope. Next, make a hole in the cap. Make this hole about ¼
inch or 1.2 cm wide. Then, place a gauze or a coffee filter on the inside of the bottle. This forms the
first layer. Follow with charcoal layer. Then, place charcoal on top of the coffee filter. Then, add a
layer of sand. Next, add a layer of gravel. Repeat the last two layers for good measure. Be sure that
the topmost layer is gravel.
