I. Literal Description
Wealth is a photography art edited with black and white filter. Black is a bold color, which can
embody feelings like power and strength. White is literally blank space, which embodies purity or light.
Photo is inspired by our state of system today, two students with different state in life, wherein
not every child or every person given the opportunity to study and finish, that wealth is the basis
of the opportunity we can get. This is to remind you that it is not a child's fault if he cannot study due
to a lack of funds, because all children want to learn and be able to finish, but not all are given the
opportunity.

II. Comprehensive Feeling

Society has a moral obligation to guarantee that all children receive an appropriate education that prepares
them to be contributing members of society as adults. This is also in society's best interests, as it is a
social waste if certain youngsters do not receive an education. It’ll affect the people’s abilities that may
help society if there are a lot of children are not being able to develop. Every child has abilities that may
be enhanced with the use of education. The long-term social and financial implications of insufficient
education produce further societal waste and time waste. Inadequate education will have a serious public
and societal impact, including lower income and unemployment due to this kind of problems in
education. This art “Hanggang Tingin” represent a child who did not get a chance to study, that not
everyone is given the privilege to learn, It express the feelings of life, showing us the real world, the
system failing. The artist have experienced the lack of equipment for school and it is really difficult at
times when you have nothing to use for school. What more to those children who have not ‘any’ or even a
little equipment for school?
It is very upsetting knowing that young people nowadays prefer to work at an early age so that they can
help their parents for their daily lives, even if we have public schools or free tuitions schools, it’s the time
they are after and the equipment for schools they’re lacking. But the work move me in a way when we
look at it the boy stares at the girl, that even if life is hard, that child never lose his faith and hope in his
eyes that someday he’ll wear that uniform and go to school.
Iii. Formal analysis
The artist use two persons, and some props as an elements according to the to the story that the
photograph should convey. The boy represent the unprivileged children who did not have the chance to
study because of his ‘basket’ representing its difficulty in life, and the girl represent rich people who
already have it all, who continue to get rich as they seizure all the opportunities because of their ‘ipad’
representing the wealth.
The tone or the filter that is used is black and white, symbolizing power and strength at the same time
give us the pure vibe. The work was prepared by the artist, who takes two models, wearing a uniform and
a clothes he wear at home, with a props of bag, Ipad and a basket. The artist use Photography as medium,
and was edited in Adobe Lightroom. The work was created a little longer than expected due to the
weather and some angles needed. The artist does not require any critical skills, get a good spot to take the
picture and focus on the models that represents the desired story, while in editing the photo you can mix
ang match the brightness and the darkness according to your liking.

Iv. Interpretation of meaning

The work was made 0ctober 2021, where in not only the country is experiencing a crisis due to an illness
called COVID-19 that forbid the (people) students to go out for school and required to use their gadget as
their classroom for learning that makes it difficult to those who have not enough gadget to use.
The Artist was motivated to do this to spread the awareness and urge to help those who are in need in
times of crisis, because Filipinos are known for having a big heart for those in need.

V. value judgement
Each trait of the artwork has it meaning, but the one that always moved me is the strong mind of the boy
who still continue to strive for his family, that kind of attitude is a good attitude that we can always see in
a Filipino who value education and strive for their life to get their desired goal. As I can see the finish
product of my artwork I am confident that it is a good work, the elements, the model, the angle even the
filter blend well with everything, and I think it expresses the story behind it. As a student I often
encounter some hardships not only in school but also in life, I experienced having nothing at all, but then
I didn’t stop there, I strive, I still study even if I don't have enough equipment or even if I don't have
anything to use, I never lose the hope that one day I will get through that day, and I did, we did, together
with my family. This artwork reminds me of my self surpassing my struggles in life as a student. And as
an artist this artwork made me realize and inspires me to do things like this as an awareness and
inspiration as well for those children who’s still trying their best to learn and trying their best to live their
everyday life with hope.
