Greetings!
This is to inform you that your son/daughter is enrolled this semester in the course, D-REED002 – Christian
Discipleship in the Modern World. This course will familiarize the student with the beginning, growth, and spread
of the Church as a community of disciples as animated and expressed in the celebration of the Sacraments. It also
discusses the highlights of Vatican II and the Second Plenary Council of the Philippines. This course will lead
him/her towards a more meaningful and active participation in the celebration of the Sacraments and the building
up of the Christian community. (cf. D-REED002 Syllabus)
In this regard, the students enrolled in this course are required to be exposed to, be familiarized with, and get
involved in the life and ministries/activities of their respective Churches. This is consonant with what is stated in
the D-REED002 Syllabus, “At the end of the course, the students should be able to produce a synthesis/reflection
of their involvement experiences through photo/video documentation in their chosen ministry manifesting personal
learnings on the Church/religious ministries, the celebration of the sacraments and the integration of gospel values
in their lives. The student must exhibit familiarity and deep understanding of the different sacraments and ministries
in the Church. He/she must also give his/her opinion on how to promote the way of life that the Gospel demands
from every member of a Christian or any religious community.”
Each student is expected to render at least ten (10) hours of exposure and involvement in their respective Churches
this semester.
