1.Introduction

Wi-Fi is not an acronym; it is a brand name created by a marketing firm that’s

meant to serve as an interoperability seal for marketing efforts.

Wi-Fi is a wireless networking technology that allows devices such ascomputers

(laptops and desktops), mobile devices (smart phones and wearables), and other
equipment (printers and video cameras) to interface with the Internet.

It allows these devices--and many more--to exchange information with one

another, creating a network.

Nowadays in all mobile computing devices such as laptops, mobile phones,

also digital cameras, smart TVs has the support of Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi
connection is established from the access point or base station to the client
connection or any client-to-client connection within a specific range, the range
depends on the router which provides the radio frequency through Wi-Fi.
These frequencies operate on 2 types of bandwidth at present, 2.4 GHz and 5
GHz.
2. Aim of Microproject

The aim of a WI-FI microproject typically involves exploring and implementing

specific aspects of wireless networking technology to gain practical experience
and understanding. The project might focus on:

1. Hands-On Implementation: Providing a practical understanding of how

to set up and configure wireless components. we can access networks or
connect with other computers or mobile using a wireless medium. In
Wi-Fi, data are transferred over radio frequencies in a circular range.

2. Scalability and Performance: Investigating how wireless networking

solutions can scale to meet changing demands and optimizing
performance. This may include load balancing, traffic management, and
resource scaling.

3. Resource Management: Understanding how wireless networking

technology allows for efficient resource allocation and management. This
may involve exploring features like resource pooling, elasticity, and
dynamic provisioning.

4. Cost Analysis: Evaluating the cost implications of deploying and

maintaining a wireless networking solution.

5. Ultimately, the microproject aims to provide a practical, hands-on

experience in working with wireless networking technology, addressing
specific objectives related to the chosen focus areas. It allows participants
to deepen their understanding of wireless networking concepts and gain
valuable skills applicable in real-world scenarios.
3.Course outcomes
The theory, practical experiences and relevant soft skills associated with this
course are to be taught and implemented, so that the student demonstrates the
following industry oriented COs associated with the above mentioned
competency:

a. Analyze the functioning of data communication and wireless networking

b. Select relevant transmission media and Cloud networking as per need.

c. Configure various networking devices.
