Start: Thumersbach valley (Talstraße) Finish: mountain inn Mitterberg
Parking available at the start to the Ronachkopf Ski Tour
“Sign Ronachkopf” in Thumersbach. The path to the Mitter-
berghof has an even gradient and is sealed all the way.

A sealed path running from the village square in Thumers-
bach to the Enzian hut.

Start: Schüttgut (Bruckberg) Finish: Hubgut (farm)
This path branches off the Areit path at Schüttgut (close
to the Porschehof in Bruckberg) and winds its way up on a
sealed track to the Hubgut farm. (it is not open for guests).

Start: bus stop Golfplatz Finish: Schoberalm (not serviced
in winter 2023/24!)
This classical walking path starts close to the Tauernstüberl
guest house (at the bus stop Bruckberg Golfplatz). The
path is sealed the whole way and leads slightly uphill to the
Schoberalm. When reaching the Schoberalm one is reward-
ed by a fantastic view over the valley.

Start: cemetery Zell am See Finish: mountain inn Pfefferbauer
The path starts at the cemetery with a sealed road winding
through the residential area of the Einöd, up to the Einöd
goods path which leads to the mountain inn Pfefferbauer.
h LAKE PROMENADE 3 h, 11.3 km, Circular hike
It is possible to walk all around the lake on this promenade.
The promenade runs almost entirely by the lakeside on
the western shore. On the eastern shore it runs along the
Seeuferstrasse footpath. Hardly any elevation difference.
i HOFMANNSTHAL ROAD 20 min, 1 km (one way)
Start and Finish: Hofmannsthalstraße
The Hofmannsthal road (located opposite the Zell am See
Yacht Club) is a very short promenade, set in the delightful
surroundings of Schloss Prielau which is alluring because of
its culinary variety and refinement as well as interesting his-
tory.
Return the same way or along the lake promenade to the
starting point.

Start: retirement home Schüttdorf Finish: Kaprun
The path begins at the retirement home (in Schüttdorf) and
runs beside the Porsche Allee. From the Porsche riding stables
it is closed to vehicles. No elevation difference.

After the riding stables, this path and the bicycle path run in
the direction of Bruck as far as the industrial area, through the
underpass; further beside the bike path to the railway under-
pass, around the Safe (electricity) railway area (Safestrasse);
over the bridge and then immediately branches off to the right
and follows the Salzach river to Kaprun. No elevation differ-
ence.
m PINZGAUBAHN WALKING PATH 30 min, 2 km
Start: Kitzsteinhornstraße in Schüttdorf Finish: Zellermoos
The path runs alongside the Pinzgau train tracks from the
Kitzsteinhornstrasse in Schüttdorf to Zellermoos. Perfect for a
stroll!
n GOLFPLATZ TRAIL 45 min, 3.8 km circular hike
The track runs along the Golfplatz cross country ski run.
Attention: The entire circular route is only accessible when
there is sufficient snow and the tracks have been groomed!
n FLUGPLATZSTRASSE WALKING PATH
(AIRPORT) 20 min, 1 km
Start: Salzach bridge between Kaprun and Zell am See (connection path)
This path, starting at the Salzach bridge, connects Kaprun
and Zell am See (suburb of Schüttdorf).

PLETTSAUKOPF 1 h, 30 v.m., 2.2 km
Start and Finish: mountain station cityXpress
After the ascent with the cityXpress cable car the winter walk-
ing path starts at the top station. Follow the signs Nr. 27 to
the Plettsaukopf, where a easy circular path leads around the
reservoir.
28 WINTER HIKE HIGH ALTITUDE PROMENADE
 1h  50 min, 150 v.m., 2.2 km
Start and Finish: trassXpress Bergstation
The popular winter hiking trail from the trassXpress mountain
station over the Schmittenhöhe summit to the Sonnkogel. After
arriving at the trassXpress mountain station, the green signs
with number 28 will guide you along the way towards Sonnko-
gel. You will also pass some sculptures from the exhibition “Art
on the Mountain”. There are also always sunny resting places
along the way. When you arrive at the Sonnkogel, you can enjoy
the unique panorama on the viewing platform. Then hike back
on the same route to the trassXpress mountain station or back
by Sonnkogel and Sonnalmbahn.

fields, meadows and through the forest: the weekly holiday
programme has a lot to offer in winter. Together with qualified
guides, you set off on snowshoe hikes and freeride tours, go on
your first ski tour, or you visit markets full of atmosphere.

Start: mountain station Areitbahn III Finish: mountain station
Areitbahn III or Sonnkogel
The winter walking path starts at the top station of the Areit lll
lift and follows the snow fence up to the Elisabeth Chapel
on the Schmittenhöhe. From there you can either walk back
to the top station of the Areit lll or walk on further to the
Sonnkogel (approx. 1 hour walking time to the Sonnkogelbahn
lift).

20 min, 27 v.m., 1 km
Start: Tunnel portal Seespitz/Zell am See
Finish: Hotel Berner (near cityXpress u. city centre)
This short promenade runs from the tunnel portal at the
Seespitz to the Hotel Berner (near the cityXpress) and is
ideal for families pushing prams.

HOCHFALLECK  40 min  20 min, 176 v.m., 1.8 km
Start: Schmittenhöhebahn bottom station Finish: Hotel and
mountain restaurant Jaga Alm
This path starts at the valley station Schmittenhöhenbahn at
the end of the Schmitten Valley and runs passed the Hotel
AlpinResort to the right into the Sonnenalmstrasse. Follow
this beautiful panoramic street till the Jaga Alm Hochfalleck.
61 DR. MÜLLER PROMENADE 20 min, 30 v.m., 1.3 km
Start: Hotel Stadt Wien Finish: Einöd or further to the moun-
tain inn Pfefferbauer
Starting point Hotel Stadt Wien. The promenade is some-
what steep in the beginning but then follows with a moderate
gradient past residential houses, then along the hiking trail
to Einöd. The entire path is very good for walking and offers
fantastic views of the Zell am See lake.

11 GROSSENTAL PATH 786–820 m 1 h, 34 v.m., 4.2 km
Start: Kaprun town centre Finish: Kaprun South
Schulstraße, Schaufelbergstraße to the Ortlehen and Großen-
tal farms. Continue on a gravel path to Kaprun South.
14 SALZACH PATH 2 h, 3,8 km
Start: Kaprun town centre Finish: Kaprun South
Schulstraße, Schaufelbergstraße to the Ortlehen and Großental
farms. Continue on a gravel path to Kaprun South.
16 BRUNNWIESEN PATH 2 h, 4.2 km
Start and Finish: Entrance to the village Kaprun, Vereinehaus,
Augasse 6
Starting in the town centre towards Kaprun castle.
At the crossing/junction Peter-Buchner-Straße – Häuslhof-
straße bear left onto the Brunnwiesenweg. Through the Ka-
prun moss you come to the Salzach. From here, a road forks
off to the left along the Salzachweg. Return the same way
again or on the Tauern biking path.

Start: Schloßstraße/Burglindgasse Finish: Entrance to the village Kaprun
Almost at the end of Schloßstraße turn left into Burglind-
gasse.
This particularly recommended walk leads below the Jakob-
skapelle and Kaprun Castle, through the protected Filzmoos
forest, at first right to Brunnwiesenweg and further left to
Salzachweg No. 14.
19 WALK TO PIESENDORF 2 h, 4.1 km
Start: Kaprun Center Finish: Piesendorf town centre
At the entrance to the village, starting point Kaprun Center,
the Einödweg access road to MK Maiskogelbahn/Maisi Flitzer
branches off to the right of the main road. Continue through
the subway to the Tauern electrical substation towards Köt-
tingeinöden to the bridge over the Salzach to Piesendorf.
21 ACHEN PATH 45 min, 1,3 km
Start: Kaprun town centre Finish: power plant Kaprun (information center)
Begin at the schools and proceed along the Schulstrasse to
the Sporthalle (sports centre). From here, the path continues
alongside the school sport centre to the Pichlbrücke and
then further towards the Gasthof and campsite “zur Mühle”
to the power plant Kaprun.
33 MAISKOGEL TRACK  1 h  45 min, 320 v.m., 3.4 km
Start: Kaprun town centre Finish: mountain inn Stangerbauer
Opposite the schools, walk along the Schaufelbergstraße
road, pass by the mountain inn Unteraigen and the après-ski
bar Eisbär. Here, cross the slope cautiously and follow the
road until you get to the mountain inn Stangerbauer.
ICE CAMP TRAIL 20 min, 60 v.m., 0.4 km, January–April
Start/Finish: Kitzsteinhorn/Alpincenter Gipfelbahn valley station
The ICE CAMP Trail starts at the valley station of the
Kitzsteinhorn Gipfelbahn on 2,450 meters. The groomed and
secured path leads through the high-alpine landscape, past
several spectacular viewing points up to the legendary ICE
CAMP presented by Audi – a fantastic wonder world made of
ADVENTURE
ice and snow, with igloos and sun deck with bar, loungers, re-
laxing music and stunnings views. Walkable with sturdy hik-
ing boots and ski poles (ski pole rental available at the sports
shops on the Kitzsteinhorn). Access point to the ICE CAMP
WINTER
Trail: After a cable car ride up to the Alpincenter, you find the
Gipfelbahn valley station at the end of the Alpincenter hall.
