guidelines:
1. Eligibility:
Participation is open to all employees of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region
12.
All participants must be current employees of NIA Region 12 at the time of the tournament.
2. Categories:
The tournament will feature three categories:
1. Doubles Women (Open)
2. Doubles Men (Open)
3. Mixed Doubles (45 years old and above)
3. Format:
The tournament will follow a single-elimination format.
Teams will be seeded into three groups, with one team receiving a bye in the initial round.
Matches will continue until a winner is determined in each category.
The overall winner will be decided by the team that wins 2 out of 3 categories or all 3
categories.
4. Scoring:
Matches will adhere to the standard Badminton World Federation (BWF) scoring system,
with games played to 31 points.
A winning margin of at least 2 points is required.
If the score reaches 30-30, play will continue until one team achieves a 2-point advantage.
5. Player Registration:
Names of players must be submitted on or before April 10, 2024.

6. Match Schedule:
The tournament schedule will be communicated to all teams well in advance.
Matches will be organized efficiently to ensure a smooth progression of play.
7. Defaulting Time:
All teams must be present at the designated court 15 minutes before the scheduled match
time.
Failure to arrive on time may result in a default loss for the tardy team.
If a team fails to appear within 10 minutes after the scheduled match time, they will forfeit
the match.
8. Court and Equipment:
Matches will be played on standard badminton courts, meeting BWF specifications.
9. Conduct and Sportsmanship:
Participants are expected to conduct themselves with integrity, fairness, and respect for
fellow competitors, officials, and spectators.
Unsportsmanlike conduct, including but not limited to cheating, verbal abuse, or physical
altercations, will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification from the tournament.
10. Ground Rules:
All decisions made by the tournament officials and referees are final and binding.
The tournament organizers reserve the right to modify the guidelines, regulations, and
schedule if necessary, with prior notice to all participants.
Any disputes or concerns should be addressed to the organizing committee for resolution.
