PIKO

General Mechanics:

1. The “Piko” is open to all bona fide Civil Engineering Students of Carlos Hilado Memorial State
University- Talisay.

2. There will be twelve (12) participants in the game, three (3) players from each house.

3. The twelve (12) participants shall be divided into three (3) groups with players from each house.
Designated persons will be assigned to each group to assist in checking the players.

4. This is an individual game.

5. The committee will be the one preparing the playing space, and will be drawing exhibit A on a flat
surface.

6. To determine the order of who plays first, each player should throw their “pamato” to the line. The
player whose “pamato” is the closest to the string line goes first.

7. The “pamato” must be thrown behind the line.

8. The player cannot touch or pick up the “pamato” while hoping forward; they can only touch or pick it up
when they are hoping back.
9. The player should pick up the “pamato” when on the box just before where the “pamato” is.

10. The player cannot put their “pamato” on a line; it has to be inside the box.

11. The player should toss their “pamato” into the first box and hop on one foot into the next box. They
can use either leg but they must keep that same leg throughout their whole turn.

12. If the player misses by tossing their “pamato” in the designated square, your opponent gets a chance
to take their turn. 13. If it's the next player's turn, the “pamato” of the other player or the other previous
players should not be touched or they cannot step on the box as to where the “pamato” is.

14. Both feet should land in the VII, if not the opponent gets a chance to take their turn.

15. If the player touches the line on any square or touches the “pamato” of other players, they
automatically lose their turn.

16. Once a player successfully throws their “pamato” in each box and hops and jumps back and forth
successfully without stepping on any line, they will be required to throw their “pamato” again backward
over their head or shoulders.

17. This is done after finishing all the squares. Then the player stands facing away from the boxes and
then throws the “pamato” over their head or shoulders. The “pamato” will then land in one of the boxes
behind them.

18. Whichever box it lands on, the player writes their name on it and calls it “their home.” No other player
is allowed to step on that box. The player with the most homes wins the game.

19. When the box already has a “pamato” or it’s already another player’s home, and a “pamato” by
another player gets into that box, they will automatically lose their turn. Only one home is allowed in one
box.

20. If the player throws their “pamato” and it doesn’t land in any box, they will have to give way to the next
player who then starts playing from the start.

21. The game is then repeated until one player has written their name in most of the boxes and named
the spaces their homes. That player is the winner.

22. Each player per group will be ranked and scored. To determine the overall house winner, the scores
of each player per group will be added. The house with the highest total score will be declared as
champion.

23. Proper attire should be observed. Proper attire includes any sportswear.

spare her team by taking her teammate’s turn.

6. The committee will be the one holding the chinese garter in order to give the same level of height all
throughout the game.

7. Each house must create a sequence for their players of the order of jumping.

8. The mother should always jump first.

9. Then each player can take their turn jumping on each level.

10.The Chinese Garter game is generally subdivided into ten levels.

Level 1 – The garter is being held by the posts closer to the ground.

Level 2 – Knee high

Level 3 – Around the height of their hips

lowest level. Getting support from players or from the ground other than putting one hand on the back of
their knees are all prohibited.

greatest number of jumping for level 10 before their legs get caught by the garter will be held as the
winner.

16. There will be two groups playing simultaneously, as to what team wins the first group will be the
opponent of whoever wins on the second group, and whoever loses on the first group will be the
opponent of the team that loses in the second group.

9. One tagger will be assigned per crosswise line. Taggers can only move along their respective lines,
with the exception of only one tagger on the first line who is regarded as the team captain. Unlike the
other taggers, the team captain can also move along the central lengthwise line. 10.Taggers can tag
runners at any time, including those already past them, but both of their feet must always be on the lines.
Tagging a runner when none or only one foot is contacting the line is not counted.

11.Runners can cross at any time and to any adjacent square, however, they can only exit the playing
rectangle at both ends of the rectangle.

12. Once a runner is tagged, they are out and will sit out the match until their team scores a point and the
next game will commence.

13. Teams score points when they complete isang gabi ("one night"), a full circuit of the playing rectangle,
from one end to the other and back again.

14.The game will consist of 5 sets and each set will be 5 minutes. It ends once all the runners have been
tagged, the player team scores a point, or the time runs out.

15. The teams reverse roles, with the taggers now becoming the runners and vice versa. The team who
accumulated the most points will be the winner.

16. Butterfly tag and respectful touching should be observed by all taggers all throughout the game.

17. Crawling for taggers is not allowed.

18. The runners must not go out of the grid or else they will be automatically out.
