Instructions to Candidate
M1P Facilitate and Assess Learning Experiences for Adult Learners based on Skills Framework
is the first module in the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP v2). The
candidate must complete the ACLP Module 1's (M1P) Learning and Assessment, attaining a
competent ("C") outcome before receiving a WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA).
The ACLP v2 M1P Assessment comprises the following two assessment methods:
1. Written Assignment
2. Practical Performance
On the day of the Assessment, the candidate must bring along the NRIC/Identity document and
the necessary Assessment artefacts.
During the Assessment, the candidate is to showcase the evidence of competency for the ACLP
v2 M1P in the Written Assignment and Practical Performance.
The details of ACLP v2 M1P Assessment are as follows:

1.1 Written Assignment 1


The Written Assignment 1 addresses the following Ability/Knowledge Statements:
● SFA-A1 Identify ways to utilise Skills Frameworks in learning programmes and activities
o SFA-K1 Objectives of Skills Frameworks
o SFA-K2 Purpose of each component within the Skills Framework
o SFA-K3 Applications of Skills Frameworks in own and related work areas
o SFA-K4 Roles and usages of Skills Frameworks
● ADI-A1 Interpret assessment plans to define assessment requirements, methods and
tools with relevant stakeholders
o ADI-K1 Components of an assessment plans
o ADI-K2 Types of assessment methods
o ADI-K3 Features, principles and rules of assessment methods
o ADI-K4 Types of assessment tools
● ADI-A5 Deploy appropriate assessment tools and methods
o ADI-K5 Principles of assessment
o ADI-K6 Principles of evidence-based assessments

The Written Assignment 1 includes:


WA1A: Apply Skills Framework
The Written Assignment will require you to discuss the following:
1. Identify how the components of SFw relate to your personal and professional growth as a
TAE professional.

2. Share how you can apply the desired attributes and chart your personal and professional
growth as a TAE professional.

WA1B: Identify the assessment requirements.


You are to use the sample Assessment Plan provided to answer the following questions:
1. Identify the assessment requirements for the assessment to be conducted
2. Map the assessment criteria to the corresponding abilities and knowledge statements
3. Consider the evidence requirements in relation to Principles of Assessment (POA) and Rules
of Evidence (ROE)

You are to submit the final Written Assignments (1A and 1B) via Canvas LMS Assignment Folder
by 1200 hrs (Singapore Time) the day after your last M1P session.

1.2 Written Assignment 2


The Written Assignment addresses the following Ability/Knowledge Statements:
● LED-A3 Identify appropriate learning modes, instructional methods, and technology tools
o LED-K4 Types of learning modes
o LED-K5 Instructional methods
o LED-K6 Types of learning activities, solutions and technology tools
● LED-A2 Adapt lesson plans to align with learner needs, profiles and active learning
qualities
o LED-K1 Methods of analysing outcomes of learner profile and learning needs
o LED-K3 Techniques for adjusting lessons plans
o LED-K7 Characteristics of active learning
● LED-A1 Prepare conducive learning environment in accordance with relevant safety and
organisational requirements
o LED-K2 Techniques for preparing conducive learning venues
Sample Learner Profile
● 12 learners attending
o Mix of experienced and new entrants to the retail/or other similar industry
o Mix of Male and Female
o Age ranges from 22 to 60
o Can speak and write English
o 2 are Chinese-educated and are not very confident in speaking or writing.
o 1 have not gone through any formal secondary education.
o 2 of them are non-local
o All of them have mobile phones.
o Basic computer literacy skills for 3 of the learners. Not very confident in using
technology. The rest are comfortable using technology.
o A mix of motivation to learn, some are sent by company as part of their training
requirements. The rest signed up for this module as they hoped to progress
further in their career. 2 of them signed up because their friend told them to.
o As this is a public run, most of the learners do not know each other, except the
2 who signed up because of their friend

The Written Assignment 2 includes:


WA2A: Lesson Overview
Based on the sample learner profile provided, you are to:
1. Indicate the reasons for the proposed learning modes and instructional methods to tailor to
the learners' profile
2. Prepare a logistic checklist for the lesson to be conducted

WA2B: Lesson Plan


Based on the sample lesson plan and the topic provided, state the one (1) learning outcome to
align with the sample learner profile and active learning qualities using a suggested IAL template.
You are to:

- Incorporate active learning qualities in your lesson plan.

- Adapt the lesson plan using an Instructional Design Theory (Gagne's 9 Events of Instruction
or Kolb's Experiential Learning).
- Incorporate at least 2 instructional methods such as discussion, role play, case study, skills
practice, presentation, interactive lecture and didactic questioning.

- Include learning activities appropriate to the learner profile, considering the learning needs.

- Your content is to enable learners to;

- Identify ways to utilise Skills Frameworks in learning programmes and activities

- Implement Skills Frameworks' content and guidelines in learning programmes and


activities.

1.3 Practical Performance 1


The Practical Performance addresses the following Ability/Knowledge Statements:
● LED-A4 Conduct contextualised learning experience activities to help learners achieve
learning outcomes
● LED-A5 Deploy facilitation, questioning and communication techniques to engage
learners
o LED-K9 Online, face-to-face, verbal and non-verbal facilitation techniques and
communication techniques
o LED-K10 Questioning and feedback techniques
● LED-A6 Manage challenges and group dynamics to help learners achieve learning
outcomes
o LED-K8 Techniques for managing group dynamics
● LED-A7 Provide feedback and support to learners pertaining to learning content
o LED-K10 Questioning and feedback techniques
● LED-A8 Adjust lesson plans in response to learners' progress and evolving needs

(Assessment Context – To serve as content during the facilitation)


● SFA-A2 Implement Skills Frameworks' content and guidelines in learning programmes
and activities
● SFA-A3 Explain the roles and usage of Skills Frameworks to employees
● SFA-A4 Resolve employee queries related to the purposes and usage of Skills
Frameworks
o SFA-K5 Skills Framework guidelines

The Practical Performance 1 includes the following tasks:


1. Set up and prepare a conducive learning environment meeting safety requirements before
the 20 – 25 minutes facilitation on the scheduled F2F classroom session.
2. Setup the necessary equipment to ensure a successful facilitation
3. Facilitate a 20 – 25 minutes classroom learning session as part of the Practical
Performance. It should take reference from your lesson plan and cover a topic on Skills
Framework.
4. Conduct contextualised learning experience activities to help learners achieve learning
outcomes with behaviours such as:
- Demonstrate active learning qualities during your facilitation.

- Use a variety of instructional methods (such as discussion, role play, case study, and
skills practice) besides presentation, interactive lecture and didactic questioning.

- Employ appropriate learning aids to help the learners achieve the learning outcomes.

5. Deploy facilitation, questioning (open, close-ended, follow-up) and communication (verbal


and non-verbal) techniques to engage learners through conducting at least one (1)
learning activity during the 20 – 25 minutes session.
6. Provide feedback and support to learners pertaining to learning content.
7. Manage challenges and group dynamics to help learners achieve learning outcomes. The
facilitator will assign one (1) learner to display disruptive behaviour during the 20 – 25
minutes session.
Note: The content provided is specifically on the topic of:

- Identifying ways to utilise Skills Frameworks in learning programmes and activities

- Implement Skills Frameworks' content and guidelines in learning programmes and activities.
For purposes of this assessment, this content cannot be changed in any way except for
contextual adjustments based on learner needs/sector requirements.

Additional instructions:
1. The facilitator will provide the learner with verbal feedback on your Practical Performance
during the scheduled F2F Classroom session.
2. The learner is given one (1) calendar day (counting from that day of F2F Session) to top
up with additional evidence (if needed) before the scheduled Assessment.
3. The learner is expected to make all the necessary arrangements personally. IAL is unable
to provide support such as facilities, equipment, and personnel to play the role of the
"learners". Also, the facilitator is not expected to sit in and observe the top-up session.
4. The new top-up evidence must cover the entire 20 – 25 minutes facilitation.
5. Learners are to submit the videos of the Practical Performance (original video and
additional top-up) and artefacts of the learning aids via Canvas LMS Assignment Folder
by 1200 hrs (Singapore Time) the day after your last M1P session.

1.4 Practical Performance 2


The Practical Performance addresses the following Ability/Knowledge Statements:
● ADI-A2 Prepare candidates for assessments
● ADI-A3 Prepare assessment venue and resources
o ADI-K7 Techniques to prepare for conducting assessments
● ADI-A10 Apply code of ethics when conducting assessments
o ADI-K10 Ethical considerations and guidelines relating to assessment processes
● ADI-A4 Conduct assessments in accordance with assessment plans
o ADI-K9 Manners of professionalism and impartiality during conduct of
assessments
● ADI-A6 Record assessment decision in accordance with principles of assessment and
evidence-based assessment principles
● ADI-A7 Record assessment evidence to support assessment decisions
● ADI-A8 Provide clear and constructive feedback to candidates regarding the
assessment decisions
o ADI-K8 Techniques for communicating with and providing feedback to
candidates
● ADI-A9 Review effectiveness of assessment plans in assessing the required
competencies

The Practical Performance 2 includes the following tasks:


1. Setup and prepare a conducive assessment environment meeting requirement
2. Prepare the necessary equipment to ensure a successful assessment session.
3. Conduct a 20-25 minutes assessment based on the sample Assessment Plan provided.
4. Conduct the assessment and record the evidence observed, ensuring compliance with
behaviours such as:

- Demonstrate ethical considerations and guidelines relating to assessment processes


throughout the assessment

- Record assessment decision in accordance with principles of assessment and


evidence-based assessment principles

- Record assessment evidence to support assessment decisions


5. Provide clear and constructive feedback to candidates regarding the assessment
decision.
6. At the end of the Practical Performance 2, suggest how the Assessment Plan can be
improved.
7. Submit the complete Assessment record based on the evidence collected during the
Practical Performance 2.

6. The facilitator will provide you with verbal feedback on the Practical Performance 2 during
the scheduled assessment session.
