school improvement plans and adjustments. There are different innovative strategies to improve the
result of MPS, understanding that learning isn’t one-size-fits-all. To have an effective curriculum, the use
of technology is one example of adapting to an evolving world since we are in the 21 st century to make
our learning more engaging and interactive. We can also use collaborative learning, for example, think-
pair-share, simulation, small group discussion, etc. Collaborative learning encourages teamwork and
partnership among the learners and improves knowledge acquisition and retention. Lastly, culturally
responsive learning incorporates attributes and knowledge from each student’s cultural background into
instructional strategies and curricula to improve educational outcomes. A key element is a learning
environment that values the strengths students bring into classrooms, rather than focusing on deficits.
Students are encouraged to use familiar ways of speaking, thinking, knowing, and analyzing to learn new
content and ideas. By creating a conducive learning environment, offering relevant content, and using
culturally responsive teaching practices in our pedagogy, we can help students make connections
between their lives in the world and their lives at school that will increase their engagement and
improve outcomes.

Maintaining a learning environment that is responsive to the community context requires a deep
understanding of the community’s needs and challenges. The context may vary from one region to
another depending on the community’s social, cultural, and economic background. As a teacher, it is
necessary to recognize these differences and make adjustments to the curriculum accordingly to
support their growth and development. One practice to contribute to the improvement of the
community is incorporating cultural relevance in the curriculum, this helps to engage learners and
create a sense of belonging such as incorporating the community’s culture and history into lessons.
Another is fostering inclusivity and collaboration, like involving parents or community leaders in
decision-making processes such as PTA conferences. Additionally, constantly seeking continuous
professional development through attending workshops, and conferences, and engaging in continuous
learning. This ensures that I can adapt my teaching methods to address the evolving needs of the
community. Through these practices, we can create a thriving educational ecosystem that empowers
students and prepares them to become active contributors to their community’s growth and
development.

As a Professional Teacher, it is essential to develop our teaching practice with existing laws and
regulations that are specified in the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers to provide a high-quality
education and maintain the integrity of our teaching profession. To develop our teaching practice in
accordance with the existing laws, we should regularly review and familiarize legislation such as the
Education Act, the Child and Youth Welfare code and the Magna Carta for Public School Teachers. In
terms of regulations, I work closely with school administrators and colleagues to stay up-to-date on
changes to policies and procedures that impact our teaching practice. Attending to professional
workshops and conferences to learn about best practices and innovative approaches to teaching, and
collaborate with other teachers to share resources and strategies. By Staying informed and committed
to best practices, I can provide the highest quality education possible to the learners while upholding
the integrity of the teaching profession.
