Instructions for the assignment:
You are required to submit a report in a Word file. Please include Excel worksheets that
show all of your calculations in your submission. The report should be submitted with
a Turnitin report.
The hard copy includes the report, calculation, Turnitin report as an attachment.
The word limit is 3000 words, excluding reference list, graphs and tables, including in-text
citations. Exceeded word will not be marked. Tables, figures, and pictures should only be
used for summary and supplementary to the main discussions. The inclusion of main
discussions in tables, figures, pictures, or similar means is strictly prohibited, and if caught,
the words will be counted towards the final word count.
Please note that using/attempting to use any tricks to reduce word count or gain academic
advantages is considered academic misconduct.
Your report should be formatted appropriately. (A4 page size, Font Style – Times New
Roman, Font Size – Headings 14 and body 12, Line spacing 1.5, Standard Margins,
Headings are required)
You must add a cover page to the report with your details.
You need to follow the Harvard Referencing style, format the reference list and add in-
text citations. Information without citations will be considered plagiarism.
Save your report as Student ID_Full Name_Report; your Excel workbook as Student
ID_Full Name_Calculation, and your Turnitin report as Student ID_Full

Assuming you just turn 22 years old, single and work in the financial industry. You live in a
rented one-bedroom apartment. The only source of income you have as of now is from your
employment. You want to buy a house/apartment in the next ten years. You plan to work
until you are eligible for pensions in retirement. The current life expectancy is 85 years of
age.
You would love to have a secure and worry-free retirement in which you will be able to travel
around the world and live the lifestyle you are accustomed to.
Following the personal financial planning life cycle, let’s creat a financial planning for your
whole life to assure that there will be sufficient funds available to pay for your retirement.
Reminder of essential information of personal financial plans

3. Estimates
In your Excel Workbook, you need to demonstrate that you had undertakend the tasks of
using primary data and relevant assumptions to do relevant estimations.
4. Recommendations (your plans)
5. A description of limitations on the work performed
6. The recommendations in the engagement should contain qualifications to the
recommendations if the effects of certain planning areas on your overall financial picture
were not considered.
Important note: It is important to be as REALISTIC as possible. You MUST do your own
research to find the reasonable salary, living expenses, interest rate, etc. in the current and
future market. Data without assumptions/justifications/calculations/explanations will be
considered as unreliable data.
Some hints: You should consider your future career; risk management for individuals;
your risk profile and economic, political and any other significant events; Monte Carlo
simulation to check the robustness of your plans.
