Research Design

The study employed the Case study approach that is used to generate an in-depth, multi-
faceted understanding of a complex issue in its real-life context. It allows for the development or
construction of knowledge that in turn allows for input educational policy and practice.

Research Participants
The participants of the study is confined to a specific sample size, comprising solely of
30 randomly selected grade 11 students in the school year of 2023-2024.

Research Setting
The study will be conducted at San Jose National High School located in San Jose,
Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur, Philippines. The school has a population of 516 students
according to the School’s Office. The school was chosen by the Researchers in applying The
effect of DEAR program in promoting reading comprehension skills among students'.

Research Instrument
In order to gather information and data, he researcher will conduct interviews with the
respondent's. Participants will ask and respond the questions from the researchers: Could you
please share us your experiences as a students who participated in the DEAR program at the San
Jose National Hight School?

Gathering Data
The principal of San Jose national high school will be contacted by the researchers to
obtain permission to collect data. The researchers will identify the subject after approval. An
interview is planned to take place after it has been confirmed that the inclusion criteria are met
Depending on the participant's availability, the interview will take place in person utilizing a
prepared interview guide. Upon welcoming the subject, outlining the aim of the investigation,
and requesting their signatures on the informed consent form, the researcher will begin the
interview. Additionally, the researcher will advise the participant of their right to withdraw at
any moment and the need of carefully maintaining their complete identity and confidentiality.
The individuals is urged to speak candidly and describe their experiences using his or her own
word.

Data Analysis
Case study method of data analysis is a powerful and demanding qualitative method of
investigation, permitting researchers to disclose constructing themes and connected connections,
guaranteeing the dependability and credibility of the outcomes. Used to examine an identifiably
problem confirmed through research (Wahiz et al.,2018) Then transcripts from the interview will
be analyzed using Case study method is as follows: 1) Understand the task ,2) Understand the
case, 3) Identify the main problem, 4) Analyze the problems, 5) Develop and evaluate solutions,
6) Make recommendations or action.
 Understand the task. After the researchers have a chance to acquaint themselves with the
information gathered by understanding the transcripts, this stage will be taken. Clearly outline
the goals and objectives of the task based on their understanding. This steps ensures that
everyone involved has a clear understanding of what need to be achieved.
Understand the case. After the researcher understand the case and knows the information
gathered, the researcher will thoroughly examine all available information related to the case,
including background data, and relevant literature.
Identify the main problem. Clearly articulate and define the main problem of challenge
identified through their analysis. This step ensures a shared understanding among stakeholders
and provides a clear focus for subsequent action.
Analyze the problem. Clearly articulate the problem statement to ensures everyone
involved has a shared understanding of what needs to be addressed.
Develop and evaluate solutions. Brainstorm and generate a range of potential solutions to
address the identity problem. Encourage creative thinking and consider both conventional and
innovative approaches.
Make recommendations and action. Concisely summarize the key findings from the
analysis and evaluation process, highlighting the main insight and conclusions. Based on the
findings, formulate clear and actionable recommendations aimed at addressing the identified
problem or achieving the desire objective.
