A Study of DEFORESTATION

INTRODUCTION:
MEANING:
Deforestation is the purposeful clearing of forested land. Throughout history and into modern
times, forests have been razed to make space for agriculture and animal grazing, and to obtain
wood for fuel, manufacturing, and construction. Deforestation has greatly altered landscapes
around the world.

Deforestation is cutting down many trees and clearing out forest areas. The various reasons
behind these human activities are increasing the space for human usage like logging or wood
extraction, agricultural expansion, infrastructure expansion etc.

Deforestation is harmful to theenvironmentbecause it causes a lot of carbon emissions and

alters the natural ecosystem. It also contributes to global warming and climate change
because plants release the stored carbon into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide when they are
cutting down. The deforestation essay urges us to learn the causes, effects and preventive
measures of deforestation.

Deforestation is a severe problem, and we must stop cutting down precious trees. Trees are
destroyed to make way for urban development and the cultivation of crops. To expand the
land area and construct buildings, production houses and manufacturing plants, we are cutting
down trees, and the government is trying its best to avoid deforestation. The process of
deforestation also increases the atmospheric level of carbon dioxide that contributes toclimate
change on the planet.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:

The following objective have been submerged in our project.

1. To study the causes of deforestation.

2. To study the problems arises due to deforestation.
3. To provide suggestions to reduce deforestation.
4. To identify the causes of deforestation in our local government area.
5. To assess the attitude of people in local area towards the existing forest.
6. To assess the efforts made by the government to reduce the problems of deforestation.
METHODOLOGY:

MEANING:

A methodology details a researcher's approach to the research to ensure reliable, valid results
that address their aims and objectives. It encompasses what data they're going to collect and
where from, as well as how it's being collected and analysed.

Having a sound research methodology in place provides the following benefits:

 Other researchers who want to replicate the research have enough information to do
so.
 Researchers who receive criticism can refer to the methodology and explain their
approach.
 It can help provide researchers with a specific plan to follow throughout their
research.
 The methodology design process helps researchers select the correct methods for the
objectives.
 It allows researchers to document what they intend to achieve with the research from
the outset.

The project will be based on concerning literature method, interview method and observation
method.

Literature method:

We collect some data and information from internet, books newspapers and magazines etc. It
was helpful to easily observe the problems of deforestation in our area.

Interview method:

The oral-verbal responses are taken officers/ workers of forest departments in our local
government area.

Observation method:

We observe the actual condition of deforestation in Tamil Nadu specially Salem, Valappady,
Attur areas.
BUDGET:

The team calculated the cost of Deforestation for varying priority system, estimating the total
cost including alleviation between city side 50 – 90 thousand rupees in Indian Currency
value. The results show that the financial benefits of reducing Deforestation are often like the
cost of alleviationefforts.
