I am applying for your MA in Business Communication for international leadership because I
intend to boost my career and vision by developing my knowledge and skills of business communication and leadership in cross-cultural contexts. My aim is to be a global citizen and a servant leader for humanity. I achieved my bachelor’s degree in English language and literature. For the past 5 years, I have worked with international organizations like the British Council and Public Affairs Office, US Embassy. I travelled to India and studied two courses as part of my professional development. During my career, I have occupied roles such as volunteer trainer, centre coordinator, teacher and assistant professor which helped me sharpen my transferable skills in critical thinking, team management, communication, and data analysis. I have always had a genuine interest in communication and building a professional network from all over the globe. This interest has always been evidenced by the level of joy I received while working with diverse and international organizations. Not all of my work experience has been as a paid employee. Part of my volunteering experience at Lincoln Learning Centre Kabul University, the American space for capacity building, involved extensive work on promoting diversity and equality by creating and implementing short courses for students from different ethnic groups and educational backgrounds. I was evacuated by the UK government through the ARAP scheme in September 2021. Since then, I have worked with The Dean Trust and Oxford International Education Group. Recently I took part in a summer school at Royal Holloway University of London where I taught English and Business for international students from all over the world. Among many other modules provided in this course, two are my most favorite which can assist me even more to achieve my future goals; intercultural communication in business and international leadership and managing diversity. In addition, there has been a high demand for international leaders in globalization through business.I consider it as the best time to develop my knowledge and skills using the opportunity provided by the Warm Welcome Scholarship. At the end, I would like to express my sincere thanks for your time. I am very much hopeful that I would be given an opportunity and honour to join your diverse community and expand my knowledge and network. Kind regards, Shakar M. Payman
