Respected Sir \ Madam,

I am writing to you to express my interest and apply for your scholarship. I have
always dreamed of studying abroad, improving my skills and getting a high level of
experience that will benefit me in my professional life.
In the beginning, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Alaa Saleem. I was
born in 13\6\1994 at Latakia City \ Syrian Arab Republic. I studied Tourism
Management at Tourism Faculty \ University of Tartous.
When I was at primary and secondary school, I used to go to the summer camps
every year, which built my confident personality and communication skills. I was good
at eloquence and rhetoric, so I used to stand on the platform and talk. And I graduated
from a secondary school of science (Baccalaureate) in 2012.
My university period was the richest. It was a big turning point in my life. In the
first year, I got the ICDL certificate and I have taken courses in the Russian language
because it was the optional language in my university studies.
In the second year, I have taken many courses in human development ( Soft Skills
Courses) that I was very impressed with. So, when I was in my third year, I underwent
TOT course and I became a human development coach. I took the membership of an
assistant trainer at ILLAFTrain. It was a very wonderful experience in volunteer work
when I was a coach member of a free campaign for training and rehabilitation. On the
other hand, I have been working since 2010 as a tutor to teach young children the basics
of English (as a self-employment).
After graduating from Tourism Faculty (in 22\2\2017, rate 80.74%), I studied a
Diploma in Educational Qualifications at Education Faculty (Open Learning\Tartous
University) and I graduated (in 16\9\2018, rate 75.85%).
So now I decided to add MA in International Relations, which has occupied my
interest since my undergraduate studies. In other words, I know that tourism is one of
the pillars of economy, and economy plays a major role in international relations. In
addition to that, tourism and tourism organizations play a big role in economic
development, interculture approximation and finding international cooperation. My
main concern is to do research in international organizations, the goals of their
establishment, their charter and their role in the international community. Especially in
managing international crises and cooperating to solve them. So, Are they playing the
role for which it was originally established?
International relations are the most important social sciences, especially at present
time, whereas now most thinkers have interest in what are the features of the next
international system? Will it remain unipolar or will it move to another form?. In fact,
the issue of forecasting in international relations studying is very important to focus
on. I am really interested in research in those topics and more.
This scholarship will enrich me for my career because I really want to improve
myself and my field of expertise so that I can transfer these experiences to my
countrymen. Not only that, but aslo scientific research is my great passion. I am aslo
confident that I am able to develop quickly, integrate with other cultures and see the
latest scientific researches in this field.
Actually, this is my second time applying for this scholarship. Thus, I applied for
it twice for several reasons. First of all, during my university studies, I had a doctor
who had his doctorate from Hungary. So, in each lecture, he told us something new
about his wonderful and rich experience, and that affected me so much. Furthermore,
in 7\4\2016, I attended a cultural seminar for a Hungarian mission presented by
hungarian professor.So after that, I searched a lot about Hungary and I was impressed
with many things for instance, since 1905, the Hungarians have won 13 Nobel Prizes.
Besides the two universities that I chose give this Master by wonderful programs,
focusing on skills and capacity development.
I believe that Hungary is the perfect place to complete my studies. Moreovere, It is
one of the countries with a large number of distinguished universities which teach their
students according to the best educational techniques. The quality of education in
Hungary is high (ranked 22) and I will have the opportunity to do reseaches in culturally
diverse environment.
As I understand, this program is very competitive, attracting highly motivated
students, but I am convinced that my good record at the University and professional
experience give me a strong recommendation for a place at it. Consequently, carrying
the Hungarian Degree is something great for my education, and also I am so excited to
get to know this awesome country known as a beauty of nature. Therefore, I trust that
you will take my request in serious consideration to help me in achieving my dream.
