The line graph illustrates/demonstrates how many foreign

tourists visited three types of natural landscapes namely
the coast, the mountains and the lakes in a European
country from 1987 to 2007.

OVERVIEW (Trend + Order)

Looking at the chart, it is clear that/as can be seen from the chart

(Trend) While the number of foreign visitors visiting the coast and the
mountains increased significantly, a fluctuation was witnessed in that
coming to the lake.

(Order) It is also apparent that throughout the given period, the coast
was the most popular destination out of three places examined.

In 1987, there was 40 thousand visitors travelling to the coast. This

figure dropped slightly to about 35 thousand in 1992 before soaring
to nearly 75 thousand in 2007. A similar trend was witnessed in the
number of overseas tourists visiting the lakes, which surged from only
10 thousand to approximately 75 thousand in 2002, followed by a
sudden fall of 25 thousand in the next 5 years.

At the beginning of the period, the number of international visitors

to the mountains was 20 thousand. This figure rose marginally to
nearly 30 thousand before falling to the initial number in 1995. The
next period experienced a fluctuation before ending at roughly 35
thousand in 2007, making the mountains the least popular choice of
foreign tourists.
