1. Login: If you already have a VLACS Career Connections account, login using
this link. If you do not yet have an account, follow the instructions at Setting
Up Your Career Connections Account to create one.
2. Access Career Explorer: Once logged in use Career Explorer to research areas
of career or industry interest. Career Explorer provides information on various
careers. Follow the instructions at Accessing Career Explorer to help you get
started.
3. Research a Career: Using Career Explorer, search for a career related to the
session you are attending. Identify key points unique to that career, such as:
a. What career are you researching?
b. What is the median salary?
c. What is the required education and training?
d. What are some of the responsibilities and tasks that someone in this
career does?
4. Questions for Professional: Write 2-4 questions that you would like answered
at the Career Connections session you attend.

Career Connections Attendance
You will complete either 1 or 2 below depending on whether you are attending a live
or recorded session.
1. Viewing Recorded Session: Follow the instructions at the Accessing Career
Connections Video Library document to browse and find recorded sessions
you will watch. Then, skip to #3 below.
a. Note: If you have already selected a video and are ready to watch it now,
remember to input the class code 2QX7-VT7P to access your video.
2. Live Session: Follow the instructions at the Browsing and Signing Up for
Career Connections Live Session document to find live sessions with
professionals in careers that interest you. Then, follow the instructions at
Attending Career Connections Live Session to enter the live session at the
appropriate date and time. Review the Career Connections Online Meeting
Norms and Expectations before and during your session.
2. Write the answers you obtained to the 2-4 questions you wrote in the Career
Connections Preparation section.
