Assignment: Freudian Revolution

1.) How did psychoanalysis change the world?

- Psychoanalysis, rooted in Freud's theories, revolutionized psychology by uncovering
the unconscious, influencing therapy, and shaping artistic expression, despite
criticisms, influencing our understanding of ourselves and the world.
2.) How can psychoanalysis help people understand why they feel and behave in particular
ways?
- Psychoanalysis is a psychological technique that examines how past experiences
shape unconscious thoughts and desires. It uses techniques like free association and
dream analysis to uncover hidden influences, providing insight into the "why" behind
feelings and behaviors.
3.) Are Freud and Psychoanalysis still relevant in modern society?
- Freud's theories, such as the unconscious, defense mechanisms, and dream analysis,
have evolved into modern psychology, thus making it still relevant in today’s life.
While psychoanalysis can explore past influences on present, research-backed
approaches are more effective. It's important to be aware of Freud's influence but
recognize that there are more evidence-based ways to understand one's "why."
