    4.1 Trade Management Operation Performance of SCB

    Import

    SCB Import business Standard Chartered Bank has seen another year of sustained growth in
    its Import Business in the year 2015. From the graph we see that in year 2015 the total Import
    of the Bank was 70617 million. Major import items for 2015 were Wheat, Sugar, Capital
    Machinery, Fabrics and Accessories, Scarp Vessel, Vegetable Oil, Raw Cotton and Flat
    Rolled Steel. But the 2012 was not up to mark and growth of import was not very fast
    because of international economic recession. But overall total foreign exchange business
    handled by the Bank also showed a marked increase from that of the corresponding period.

    2013 the growth rate of import was 9.68% respectively. Between 2013 and 2014 the growth
    rate of import was 5.80% respectively. The last year growth rate of import was 9.33%.

    Export

    SCB in 2011, the Bank has seen a substantial and consistent growth in its export sector which
    continued in 20015. The major export items of the Bank are Readymade Garments, Jute and
    Jute goods, Shrimp, Leather, Tobacco, Ceramic tiles, Fresh vegetable, Tempered 42 Quoted
    Glass, Bone crust Betel-Nut etc. Frozen Fish and Agricultural products. Despite decline in
    overall export of our country due to the financial crisis in the developed economics, Standard
    Chartered Bank registered a huge increase in export in 2015 from last year. The total export
    of the Standard Chartered Bank was Tk.51316 million which in higher than 2014.
