INTRODUCTION

The word “immersion” as it applies in the K to 12 curriculum is defined as the


Department of Education (DepEd) Order No. 40, series of 2015. Work Immersion
refers to the part of the Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum consisting of 80
hours of hands-on experience or work simulation which the Grade 12 students
will undergo to expose them to the actual workplace setting and to enrich the
competencies provided by the school under supervision of the School Head and
the designated personnel of the partner. GRADE 12 Senior High School Students
have started their work immersion related to their selected academic track
or their selected vocational course. The immersion trains students and
strengthen their skill or expertise for their work in the future. It is part of the K-12
program which prepares students to work in companies. The Department of Labor
and Employment said work this is an integral part of the K to 12Program in fully
realizing its goal to produce job-ready graduates equipped with industry-
based skills. DOLE strongly affirms that work immersion contributes to the full
moralizations of the objectives of the K to 12 Program. Through this program, the
student scan be ready for their big step in working and be comfortable and
familiar with business-related conditions in line with their specialization.
Students experience the social interaction in work environment that would
help them as they graduate and face real life

Frame work

Effectiveness : The degree to which something is successful in producing a desired


result or outcome. In the context of work immersion, effectiveness refers to the
extent to which the program contributes to the development of skills among
senior high school TVL (Technical-Vocational-Livelihood) students.Work
Immersion: A program designed to provide students with hands-on experience
and exposure to real-world work environments related to their chosen field of
study. Work immersion typically involves students spending a certain period of
time working in actual workplaces under the supervision of industry professionals
Senior High School: The last two years of the K-12 educational system, typically for
students aged 16 to 18 years old. Senior high school aims to prepare students for
higher education, employment, or entrepreneurship by offering specialized tracks
or strands, such as the TVL track.TVL Track: The Technical-Vocational-Livelihood
track in the senior high school curriculum, which focuses on developing technical
and vocational skills relevant to specific industries or fields of work. TVL students
undergo specialized training and education to prepare them for careers in various
vocational areas.
.Skills Development: The process of acquiring or enhancing the abilities,
competencies, and knowledge required to perform specific tasks or activities
effectively. In the context of this study, skills development refers to the
improvement of technical, vocational, and practical skills among senior high
school TVL students through work immersion experiences.
San Guillermo National High School: The specific educational institution where the
study on the effectiveness of work immersion is conducted. This term refers to the
high school located in San Guillermo, which is likely the focus of the research or
evaluation regarding work immersion programs for TVL students.

Statement of the Problem

The overall aim of this study is to assess the effectiveness of work immersion in
developing the skills of senior high school tvl students in san Guillermo National
High school

Specifically, it aim to address the following questions

1. What are the profiles of the respondents in term of:

2.What are the effect of work immersion to student in terms of

2.1.)productivity
2.2.) social interaction
2.3.) academic performance

3.Does work immersion help the students of San Guillermo National High School
develop their skills?
4.What are the reaction of the students towards immersion
Hypothesis
“there is advantage of the student that encounter a work immersion. It helps
develop the skills of the student.”

Scope and delimitation

This study aims to comprehensively investigate the effectiveness of work


immersion programs in developing the skills of Senior High School TVL (Technical-
Vocational-Livelihood) students at San Guillermo National High School. Through a
detailed analysis, the research will delve into various aspects of skill development,
encompassing technical competencies, professional skills, and soft skills, among
participating students. By focusing solely on San Guillermo National High School,
the study will provide localized insights, shedding light on the specific context and
dynamics at play within the institution. Furthermore, participant selection will be
carefully tailored, encompassing only Senior High School TVL students who have
actively engaged in work immersion programs. Emphasizing the short-term
effectiveness of these programs, the research will explore outcomes within a
defined timeframe, offering valuable insights into immediate skill enhancement.
Within the scope of skill development areas, attention will be given to technical
competencies, professional skills, and soft skills intricately linked to the TVL
curriculum. Through the utilization of predetermined evaluation metrics, the
study aims to meticulously assess the impact of work immersion programs,
ensuring a thorough understanding of their effectiveness, while refraining from
investigating extraneous factors that may influence skill development.

Definition of Terms

Communication skills the ability to convey information to another effectively and


efficiency .It is also an ability that you can use in giving and receiving information
.It involves listening observing and speaking communication skills will serve as the
skills that will be focus of study in the work immersion
