INTRODUCTION
Coronavirus disease which is Covid-19 is dangerous virus. Most of people infected by the
virus will experience a mild to moderate illness and can recover without special treatment but
some will become seriously ill and need to require the medical attention so basically anyone
can get sick because of this virus and become serious ill or die. The virus starts from Wuhan,
china and start to effect all the world including Malaysia. The impact of covid-19 on business
is very hard that can make our business totally shut down. The pandemic hit Malaysian on
January 2020 and the government start to take action by doing the movement control order
which is MCO. Many regulations that have been implemented under the prevention and
control of infection disease by the Prime minister of Malaysia, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on
16 March 2020. After a while the covid-19 start to reduce since we get the vaccine to fight the
virus, the government start giving a permission to run the business back and can go to work
in that time also our country faces a big problem after the covid-19 which is having an inflation
that cause from the covid-19. Now Malaysia start to gather it back and start to doing great in
handling the virus and the inflation that our country faced.
The problem that we faced as the production manager is we kindly short of staff and need
staff to run the business, we decide to hired a 100 operator that can work for the company
from the Bangladesh and the problem we faced is language barrier. That problem can cause
of miscommunication with the Bangladesh worker because the 100 operator are unable to
speak English or Bahasa Malaysia.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion is that we must be respectful because this problem of language barrier requires
a patience, conscientiousness and understanding. When we have a team and we struggling
to communicate with the differ cultures and background we must never ever raise our voices.
We need to talk slower instead of get angry and start to talk louder. We must remember that
if someone working with us and faced a language barrier it has nothing to do with their actual
intelligence or their ability to do something. Language barrier can be a really challenge but in
working with people that is different cultures and different background can drive innovation
success and creativity. One more thing is that we don’t ever let language barriers stand in our
way of embracing everything a diverse workplace to offer.
