 These traits, such as communication, empathy, and decisiveness, were seen as
integral components of effective leadership.
2. Duties as Leadership:

academic or social context.
 Taking on responsibilities and tasks was closely linked to their recognition of
someone as a leader.
3. Positionality:
 The learners' understanding of leadership is heavily tied to designated
positions, including class captain, president, and monitor roles.
 They equate leadership with the formal titles and responsibilities associated
with these positions.
4. Leadership Skills:
 Learners emphasized the importance of possessing a specific set of skills to be
an effective leader.
 Their perception of leadership skills includes the ability to motivate, organize,
and guide others toward common goals.
5. Control:

facilitated by teachers and school administrators.
 This control is seen as essential for maintaining order and discipline within the
educational environment.
Understanding these nuanced perceptions can facilitate the development of learner
leadership.
