IN CIVIL AVIATION
ADVANCE YOUR AVIATION MANAGEMENT SKILLS AND CAREER
concordia.ca/jmsb/aviation
As the world continues to confront COVID-19, and aviation faces unprecedented challenges globally, one must
not lose sight of the fact that once this pandemic has subsided, people will take to the skies in great numbers once
again. The success of the civil aviation sector’s recovery will therefore strongly rely on the managerial skill level of
aviation professionals, and on the innovation and vision, those professionals can bring to defining new and more
effective solutions post-pandemic. The Management Certificate in Civil Aviation (MCCA) covers three main topics
to help leaders prepare and enhance their leadership skills in civil aviation: strategic management, human resources
management, and business planning and decision-making.
OVERVIEW
Offered in partnership with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the objective of this aviation-centric
management programme is to enhance the aviation management competencies of qualified personnel in the civil
aviation community while promoting best practices with ICAO’s TRAINAIR PLUS Programme and global aviation
training activities.
The programme will be taught at a level equivalent to that of a graduate business programme and will consist of three
courses: Strategic Management, Human Resources Management, and Business Planning and Decision-Making.
These themes provide leaders and potential leaders in civil aviation with the tools needed to bring their organizations
up to speed on critical industry issues. Successful completion of all three courses will lead to a Management Certificate
in Civil Aviation.
