BIOGRAPHY
In Loving Memory of Theresa Akua Antwi: A Life of
Virtue and Industrious Spirit
Theresa Akua Antwi, aka Akua Antwiwaa, was born
on May 2, 1956, to Opanyin Kwabena Antwi and
Obaapanyin Victoria Agyarkoa, both of blessed
memory.

In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I My wife was an embodiment of love. She
nurtured a love that was deep, enduring, and
thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and
seless. Her commitment to the family was
earth, that thou hast hid these things from the unwavering, and her love created a foundation
wise and prudent, and hast revealed them that will endure long after her physical presence is
unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed no more. Her legacy lives on in the love she
cultivated and shared with us as family.
good in thy sight.
To our beloved mother, Theresa Akua Antwi, as we stand here, surrounded by family and friends, our hearts are
heavy with grief yet overowing with love, we nd solace in the memories of a life well-lived, a life shaped by
your unwavering love, boundless kindness, and steadfast guidance.
Sister Akua, you were more than just a mother to us; you were our rock, our guiding light, and our source of
strength. From the moment we came into this world, you embraced us with open arms, showering us with love
and nurturing us with care. Your unwavering devotion knew no bounds, and your sacrices were countless, all
made with a smile on your face and love in your heart.
Your industrious spirit was a marvel to behold. From the days of Suhum to Akim Oda, when we had difcult
moments in life, you showed us the power of hard work and perseverance. We all took turns selling one thing or
the other to support you at home because you taught us to be industrious and to be content with ourselves.
You made us understand that success is not measured by wealth or status but by the dedication and
determination with which we pursue our God-given purpose. It is rather unfortunate that you couldn't stay
longer to fully enjoy the great successes we have attained and the wealth God has blessed us with.
But beyond your accomplishments and achievements, it was your kind and generous heart that truly set you
apart. You gave of yourself freely, never hesitating to lend a helping hand to those in need. This was evident
when, even in the early days of your illness, you would still visit each of us to offer support in taking care of your
grandchildren.
Your love for us was a reection of your unwavering faith in God. You taught us to trust in His plan, to seek His
guidance, and to walk in His light. You would wake us up at 5:00 am for morning devotions and never hesitated
to take us along to church every Sunday. Your faith was a source of strength and inspiration, guiding us
through life's challenges and reminding us of the power of love and forgiveness.
Today, as we bid farewell to you, Sister Akua, we take comfort in knowing that you have found eternal peace in
the arms of our Heavenly Father. Though we will miss you dearly, your legacy of love and kindness will live on in
our hearts forever.
Rest in peace, Mum, knowing that you are forever loved and cherished by your children. Until we meet again.
Our grand mother was so dear to our hearts. We are indeed fortunate to have
her as our grandmother. She was so caring, kind and funny. One thing we will
never forget about our grandmother is that, she will not sleep without praying for
all of us. She always encourage us to learn very hard.
Grandma, we will always remember your advice your corrections and most of all
your words of encouragement. We love you grandmother, you will forever be in
our hearts and we will never forget you.
Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “write: 'Blessed are the dead who die in the
Lord from now on'.” “Yes,” says the spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their
works follow them.” (Rev. 14:13 NKJV)
The Voice of The Lord Evangelical Church learnt with deep sorrow the sudden and untimely
demise of our dear sister, Deaconess Theresa Antwi which occurred on November 28, 2023
at the Ga East Municipal Hospital in Accra after some illness.
Maame Antwiwaa, as she was affectionately called by all became a member of Voice of
the Lord Evangelical Church and was baptized in 1994 by Apostle Alfred Addo.
During her spiritual journey with the church, she exhibited strong faith, zeal, commitment
and dedication towards the work of God till her death. Even when she fell sick, she did all
she could to attend church until health eluded her. She also became a women's leader of
the church at the Madina assembly for so many years.
Deaconess Theresa Antwi respects everybody no matter your age. She was humble and
down to the earth and a regular member of the church.
Indeed, her death has created a vacuum, which is difcult to be lled. However, we take
solace in the fact that her absence on this earth means she is currently with her maker
whom she served.
As we mourn the demise of Deaconess Theresa Antwi, we do understand that she has paid
her dues to the family, the Church and the nation; and the best tribute we can pay to this
God-fearing woman is to emulate her outstanding examples, especially her loyalty to God
and the church.
Her death came as a shock to us but we believe she is resting peacefully in the bosom of her
maker.
Maame Antwiwaa, may the good Lord keep you in the bosom of Father Abraham till we
meet again.
We say fare thee well. AMEN
