I attended the exam today, 25th Jan , 2021 at Al Twar Municipality. The exam is online.

We have 1 hour to answer 25 objective questions. Once you complete the exam, you can
click the end button and finish. I did my exam in 10 minutes. There is no descriptive
question. You only have to carry your emirates ID and SOE card. You can avail a
calculator in the system, if needed.

What are the questions asked for the Dubai Municipality exam G+4 in the year
2021? How many attempts are required to pass the exam?

For Engineering services exam (For Structure Engineer): 25 MCQS, Total 100 Marks, 70
Passing Criteria,

Number of attempts: Unlimited, you can appear in exam for an unlimited times. So don't
worry about this.

MCQS mainly come from, Small design problems, like they will give you an Ultimate
moment and cross section of beam, slab or footing, and they will ask for Area of steel,
you have to pick the right choice among four choices.

Punching shear and beam shear in slab and footing. Check ACI design codes for
minimum beam spans, slab spans as well.

Check siesmic parameters as well, Response reductions factor, importance factor for
different types of buildings.

Check UBC and ASCE loads combination and loads factor, live load values for different
kind of buildings.

I will summarise it like this

1. Check manual design of Slab,beam, column, footing. (ACI formulas)

2. Codes (ACI, ASCE, UBC) don't go much deeper, memories just important stuffs.
3. Siesmic and wind loads and parameters ( dont go much deeper)
4. Stiffness modifiers, bracing stiffness, K values… etc…
5. Must carry scientific calculator with you.
This is enough for G+4 Structure Engineer exam. Best of luck…………

For G+4 also it's simple

You must study

1.Concrete technology

2. Piles (test , classifications)

3.steel structure (bolt grades , rafters , purlins )

4.unit weight of materials

5.concrete test , Soil test , core cutter test

If you cover these you can clear g+1 , g+4 Contracting exam .
What type of questions can I except from Dubai’s municipality for the G+4
building contracting exam for a site engineer?

Unluckily i didn't appeared in G+4 contracting exam. But i heard from some of my
colleagues that mcqs generally come from concrete technology plus simple engineering
mechanics

25 Mcqs mainly come from as i heard about

1. Concrete technology
2. Engineering Mechanics
3. Simple shear force and bending moment diagrams
4. Pile foundations
