Main FCOM/QRH/FCTM Changes
A new chapter “Tasksharing” is now included in the FCOM. It contains the entire
tasksharing for all flight phases. Now, the QRH normal procedure only contains the
tasksharing for three flight phases:
These flight phases do not include any action flow. Based on airline policy, the flight crew
may:

Both pilots refer to the same chart reference and the same mental picture about the
expected takeoff performance and contingency procedures (e.g. EO SID).

In addition, the ENG MODE selector action was moved from the Before Takeoff phase to
the Taxi phase, in order to reduce the workload during the Before Takeoff phase.

When the autobrake is selected, the PM monitors the autobrake during the entire landing
roll. The PF calls out MANUAL BRAKING if they use the brake pedals. Then, the PM
calls out AUTOBRAKE OFF if:
- The A/BRK does not engage as expected or the A/BRK disengages
- The PF did not call out MANUAL BRAKING.

○ Update of the OEB 53 procedure.
The OEB 53 procedure is clarified. During climb, when the flight crew resumes normal
SOP and the OEB procedure is completed, the Derated Climb function is available.

○ Update of Procedures / Normal Procedures / Supplementary Procedures /
Green Operating Procedures - General.
Green Operating Procedures (GOP) (e.g. one(two) engine(s) taxi) may reduce the
redundancy of some aircraft systems. Therefore, Airbus reminds that the flight crew
should decide to apply GOPs in accordance with the Operator’s guidelines and the flight
conditions of the day, including the aircraft technical status.
The layout of the FCOM “One(Two) Engine(s) Taxi - General” section was changed and
its content enhanced to ensure understanding.
Following customer feedback, Airbus decided to launch a project to update the Flight Ops
manuals to comply with the gender neutral guidelines. Whenever, there were “he”, “she”,
“he/she”, “his”, “her”, “his/her” in the FCOM/FCTM it has been changed depending on the
context (e.g. “the flight crew”, “the PF” etc.). These modifications can be identified with
the following highlight “Wording enhancement in order to comply with the Airbus Policy
regarding the gender neutral documentation”.

○ Update of the Aircraft Systems / Auto Flight - Flight guidance / Autothrust /
A/THR Modes.
For A320 family aircraft equipped with Flight Guidance (FG) pre I8/C8, a clarification of
the autothrust behavior below 150 ft during approach was introduced in the FCOM.
For A330/A340 family aircraft, even if this system behaviour is less significant, it is still
present on some aircraft types.
Therefore, the FCOM was updated to describe this autothrust behavior on those aircraft
types.
In addition, in order to simplify the configuration management of the SPEED/MACH
Modes description, some structural modifications were done.
