The findings of this study will be helpful to future researchers, administrators, educators, parents, and students

as they will provide fresh perspectives on the variables influencing college course selection. To obtain the
necessary data, an interview guide was used in conjunction with a phenomenological-qualitative study that was
conducted with the chosen students at the College of Education, MSU-TCTO. It is made up of reference
questions that the panel of experts has approved. The collected data were transcribed, examined thematically,
and evaluated. Based on the study's findings, parents' preferences and influences, outside influences,
affordability, practicality, individual interests and preferences, and socioeconomic issues were all common
factors influencing the students' decision to major in education in college. Additionally, the respondents
