Numerous academic and athletic considerations play a role in the decision to attend
college. College administrators, recruiters, and coaches can all benefit from knowing which factors matter most
when it comes to college selection. This will have an impact on recruitment, retention, and the short- and long-
term strategic plans of an institution. This study looked at the variables that community college student-athletes
in the Midwest of the United States considered when choosing a college. 107 student-athletes from 19
community colleges in the Midwest of the National Junior College Athletic Conference (NJCAC)—59 men and
48 women—were the study's participants. According to this study, (a) athletics/sports/extracurricular activities,
(b) cost of attendance/tuition fees, and (c) head coach and coaching staff were the three most important factors
