EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

An energy audit was conducted on December 2023 at the

energy auditors house in #6 Atis Street, Narra Avenue, Poblacion,
Narra, Palawan. According to the acknowledged energy-saving
measures the savings per month can be deducted by 300 to 600
pesos. While the unit's present power consumption/bill is not very
high, there is opportunity for improvement, suggesting that the
electricity expenditures might be reduced.

INTRODUCTION

OBJECTIVES

The Energy Audit was defined to meet the following objectives:

 Conduct a simple walk-through audit or observation for the residential unit's

energy consumption of electrical appliances.
 Review and analyze previous energy use to provide a baseline upon which
savings in the audited unit may be quantified.
 Determine what can be done to minimize energy consumption throughout the
unit and what options are available for system improvements if funding is
available.
 Identify and evaluate measures that could improve the environmental
performance of the units and provide recommendations.

INTERPRETATION

In this report, unless the contrary intention appears;

- Energy Conservation means steps taken to reduce and to use as much energy
as necessary through changing energy consumption behavior, e.g., Switching
off lights when not in use.
- Energy Efficiency means using less energy to provide the same service/output, eg.
Replacing inefficient light bulbs with efficient ones.
- Faulty means an equipment not working or made correctly; having defects.

3
- Potential savings means the actual reduction in operating expenses from the
improved energy efficiency generated by an energy conservation or
efficiency activity.
- Retrofitting means upgrading an existing system to improve energy efficiency.
- Tariff means the amount of money charge by the supplier (utility) per kWh for
the use of electrical energy.
- Vampire Load means the way power is consumed by electronic and electrical
appliances while they are switched off or in standby mode (consuming
electricity at a cost but not doing any work).

Analysis of the Chart about the electrical Energy Consumption of the
Residential building

 Washing Machine consumes the most energy in the House

 2nd is the Refrigerator with 24 percent consumed energy per month

 And the 3rd is the rice cooker with 21% consumed energy

 The rest take of the appliances doesn’t consume a lot of energy

ENERGY CONSERVATION OPPORTUNITIES

 Replace the refrigerator with a newer model, newer models consume

less energy than the old ones.

 Replace the washing machine, and minimize its time of usage

 Replace the rice cooker with a better one in terms of energy

consumption

COMPARISON OF RECENT FACILITY LAYOUT TO RENOVATED

RESIDENTIAL UNIT

As observed, there are appliances that consumed a lot of electricity the

refrigerator, television and washing machine. If I were to renovate the
Residential Unit, the refrigerator, washing machine and rice cooker will be
replaced by newer models, because newer models are more eco-friendly and
consumes lesser energy resulting to lower cost of electricity.
