BARANGAY 1-A BASKETBALL LEAGUE 2024

RULE NO.1 TOURNAMENT FORMAT

(ELIMINATION ROUND)
a. 5 teams bracket A and 5 teams bracket B single round robin system.
b. The game will be played ten 10) minutes every quarter.
In case of double tie winner over the other shall apply
c. In case of triple tie quotient system shall apply.
d. In case of for four ties, knock out game system shall apply (Draw lots system)
(SEMI-FINAL ROUND)
a. Top 2 teams in every bracket are qualified to play for semi-final round.
b. Same as section B Rule n# 1
c. Same as section C Rule n# 1
d. Same as section D Rule n# 1
e. Rank #3 and rank #4 - will play for 21d • And 3rd . runner up
b. Rank #1 and rank #2 - will play for the championship round.
c. Best of three series
RULE NO. 2 TEAM COMPOSITION
a. A minimum of (8) players in every schedule game.
b. A player must be a Registered Voters of Barangay 1-A or Bonafide
c. A player may only join in one (1) team.
d. No team shall be allowed to change or Additional their player on the official line - up after
the approval of the official screening committee.
e. Only players, coaches, asst. coaches, team and utility personnel will be allowed in bench
area.

RULE NO.3 COACHES

a. The coaches are the only representative of the team who may communicate to the official
and the officiating referees.
b. He may seek information concerning score and other violation provide it is done in
courteous manner and proper time.
c. The coach is the responsible for the general discipline of his team and bench.

RULE NO. 4 TEAM CAPTAIN

During the game only the designated team captain is allowed to ask clarification on the
decision of the referee provided that such clarification should be done in a courteous manner
and proper time.
RULE NO.5 PUNCTUALITY, DEFUALT AND PENALTY
a. During scheduled games, to avoid default, each team is given 15) minutes grace period by
the official committee after which any team that does not show up will automatically lose by
default/forfeiture.
b. All players are required to be Comelec registered voters in the Barangay 1-A, if found that
any of the player is not a registered voters the team will automatically lose the game (even if
the said team already won the games before discovery.
c. A team with not incomplete uniform will, give one (1) free throw to the opponent team.
d. One of the players of each team, if the birth certificate was found fake or tampered, the
said team will automatically be eliminated in the Barangay 1-A Basketball League 2024.
e. The player who didn't submit his birth certificate or original baptismal cannot join the
game.
h. Any players who incurred two (2) consecutive technical fouls, and two (2)
unsportsmanlike fouls will automatically eject in the game and will be suspended on the next
game session.
i. The Official sports committee will only accept protest letter from each team, within 48
hours after the end of regulation. Until elimination round.
j. Cigarette smoking is not allowed on the bench area.
k. Drunk players are not allowed to play.
l. If two (2) or more players join the fight, their team will lose the current game.
m. If any player in the official line up did not play the game in the elimination round, they
cannot play on the semi-finals and/or on the next round game.
n. Any player or team fight during the game, will be suspended or ejected in the current game
and will be given suspension. second offense will be subject to suspension in the whole entire
game and banned on the next year basketball tournament.
o. A walk out is defines as abandoning the playing court as a demonstration of protest. Any
team that walks out of the game will immediately be banned from further participation in the
tournament. Likewise, coaches and team official will be banned lifetime from all Mayors Cup
basketball league Programs.

RULE NO.6 UNIFORM & REGISTRATION

a. Every team is required to provide complete uniform w/ a corresponding number at the
back, before second games.
b. Every player should be in his complete playing uniform during the games.
c. Surnames must be printed above the number at the back of the jersey.
d. Jersey must be tucked in all the times while the players inside the court. A team will be
warned for delay of the game for the violation. The team will be assessed a technical for the
second violation.
e. Rubber shoes w/ athletics sock.

RULE NO.7 TOURNMENT GAMES

a. All tournament games shall start on schedule.
b. Schedules are subject to change with/without priority notice.
c. Failure in the part of any players, coaches, team manager to abide or follow the decision of
the tournament, official will mean disqualification.
RULE NO.8 SPECIAL RULES
a. The technical committee shall have the power to make decision on any point that is not
specifically covered in this rule, such decision is not subject to protest and the decision is
final.
b. In case of double interpolation of the provision in this ground rules, the interpretation of
the technical committee will prevail.
