Mayo clinic is a not for profit organization that has been useful in providing the much

needed health information in matters of clinical practice, educating the public on what is a

healthy lifestyle, conducting medical related research and providing professional and personal

centred care to the sick. The website provides to the users the needed information regarding the

clinic, the team of doctors, the location of the various clinics and the management. It is important

to notice that the mission, vision and values of the clinic are clearly outlined in the website and

its ranking ("About Mayo Clinic - About us - Mayo Clinic," 2021). Such information not only improves

the credibility of the website but also of the research, medical and educational team and the data

or health information therein. The website also outlines some of the very important aspects of the

organization, this includes the history, publications and newsletters. In the website, commitment

to patients' confidentiality, privacy, rights and responsibilities have been clearly outlined. This is

according to the nursing code of ethics and professional standards. Further, we are provided with

a list of referral hospitals across the globe which is important for patients from different

continents or regions.

Most of the information in the website is educational rather than promotional. The

website first defines the disease or health complication, the causes, symptoms, prevention and

any further information that might be needed by the user. Promotional messages are then

provided as external links hence are not very much prioritized. This appeals to the senses of the

user first about their condition and is helpful with or without booking an appointment or visiting

the clinic. All the information in the website is arranged consequently in headers and written in

point form with a simple language. This makes them easy to read through and comprehend. For

further information, an extra link is provided for in depth knowledge for those interested in

finding more about different health conditions. It is important to note that the website provides

an option of sharing the available information through other social media platforms like twitter

and facebook and a search bar for easy web crawling through the website. All the information in

the website has a time stampo at the end indicating the pub;licatin date. Such is necessary to

ensure the website provides up to date information to the users which was evident in the search.

However, the website does not employ the use of graphics and images which is necessary to

make health information more appealing to the rader and easy to understand. This is also useful

to illiterate users (Wang et al., 2017).
