What is System
Administration?
Reliable Infrastructure: are tasked with ensuring that all computer systems and
networks under their purview operate smoothly. This involves routine checks,
troubleshooting, and proactive measures to prevent potential issues.
User Support: provide technical support to users within the organization. This
includes assisting with software-related problems, hardware issues, and other IT-
related inquiries.
•Involves setting up and configuring hardware, software, and network components. Ensures that systems are
correctly installed and optimized for performance.
•SysAdmin's Role: perform initial installations, conduct configurations, and regularly update systems.
•Involves creating, modifying, and deactivating user accounts. Ensures proper access controls and security
measures.
•SysAdmin's Role: manage user permissions, passwords, and access levels to protect sensitive information.
•Encompasses implementing security measures to protect against threats and applying patches for software
vulnerabilities.
•SysAdmin's Role: monitor security protocols, implement firewalls, antivirus solutions, and ensure systems are up-
to-date with the latest patches.
