● represents forces (in its direction) acting on an object with arrows
○ Frictional Force (fs, fk) - fs (not moving) fk (moving)
○ Tension Force (T) - in a string
○ Normal Force (N) - if you are in the ground
○ Applied Force (F) - when force is applied by a person or object.
○ Gravity (W) - Gravity

OBJECTS in EQUILIBRIUM
● An object in not accelerating; either not moving or in a constant motion.
● All forces are balanced
● Equation of motion:
When incline:
Measured from the x-axis:
Fx =Fcosθ
Fy=Fsinθ
Other Equations(idk):
W=mg
f=μN (0<μ<1) (μ is unitless)
(big value; rough
small value; smooth)

OBJECTS NOT in EQUILIBRIUM

● Object is accelerating
● Unbalanced forces

UNIFORM CIRCULAR MOTION
● Motion of an object in a circle at a constant speed of rotation
● Acceleration is constant
● Velocity is always changing direction
● When a ball is tied to a string
○ Direction
■ Velocity is always directed tangent to the circle
■ Acceleration is always directed towards the center
○ Magnitude
■ Velocity magnitude is constant
■ Acceleration magnitude is constant
NEWTON’S LAW OF UNIVERSAL GRAVITATION ( Inverse Square law)
● Any two objects attract each other with a gravitational force, proportional to the product
of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
● The force acts in the directions of the line connecting the centers of the masses.
● G = 6.67 x 10^-11 N m^2 / kg^2
