Repair procedures
Replacement

. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

. Recover the refrigerant with a recovery/ recycling/ charging station.

. When the engine is cool, drain the engine coolant from the radiator.
Loosen the mounting nut and then remove the expansion valve cover (A).

Remove the bolts and the expansion valve (A) from the evaporator core.
Tightening torque :

. Plug or cap the lines immediately after disconnecting them to avoid moisture and dust contamination.
6 Disconnect the inlet (A) and outlet (B) heater hoses from the heater unit.

Remove the cowl top cover.

25. After loosening the bolts, remove the main crash pad and cowl cross bar assembly (A) altogether.
26. Disconnect the heater & blower unit connectors.
(1) Disconnect the intake actuator (A) connector and then remove the wiring mounting clips.
Disconnect the mode control actuator (A) connector and then remove the wiring mounting clips.

(3) Disconnect the temperature control actuator (A) and evaporator temperature sensor (B) and resister (C) connectors, and the
remove the wiring mounting clips.
Disconnect the blower motor (A).

(5) Remove the heater & blower unit from the main crash pad after loosening the bolt and nuts.
27. Remove the blower unit (B) from the heater unit (A) after loosening the screws.
28. Install in the reverse order of removal.
